Biird Lumii clitoral stimulator review

Biird Lumii clitoral sucker sex toy: Review & discount

I’ve worked with Biird four times now and I’m a big fan of their work – and so are you, judging by the number of you who’ve used my links and discount codes to buy their stuff. Go you!

Yes, I probably should have got this post out in time for Valentine’s Day, but life gets in the way sometimes. Sorry about that, I hope you weren’t too disappointed in your cheap flowers and chocolate. However, it’s never too late to treat yourself anyway, especially with a discount code (You can get a 10% discount on the Biird.co website with the code WHINGEWINE). However please note that just because the timing is right, I’m definitely not suggesting this would make a good Mother’s Day present... There are limits.

Anyway, this time I asked them to send me their best sellers so I could try them out and pass on the good word, and they sent me a whole bundle. They were sent via Evri (which is the only downside to the company – why do people still use them? Urgh!) so I was pretty happy when they didn’t end up in next door’s bush. Ahem.

Who are Biird?

Biird are a female friendly pleasure focussed brand who make really non-threatening sex toys as well as a range of really cute merch like earrings and socks with clits on (which I’m wearing right now, as it happens). Their aim is to empower women to take control of their sexuality, not hide it away.

The toys are cute, they’re squishy and body safe and they’re totally unintimidating. They’re a great way to start up a toy collection for a newbie (although even if you’re an old hand, so to speak, you won’t be disappointed!).

Anwyay, here’s what Biird sent me:

The Lumii

This is the one I’m reviewing here – it’s a cute little clit sucker (RRP £75.99), similar to the Biird Namii but smaller and also slightly cheaper. The Lumii just has one button which scrolls through the intensities so it’s really foolproof. I’ve done a full Biird Lumii review here!

The Boo

Boo is a chonky silicone dildo

Boo is a chonky silicone dildo (RRP £29.99). If you’re not a fan of longer, cervix-smashing dildos, the Boo is girthier but measures a slightly more modest/realistic and less intimidating 5.5inches. With a suction bottom (which would fit inside a harness if that’s your thing) and a velvet pouch to keep it in, it also comes with a keychain which you probably wouldn’t gift to your nan. Or you could, I hear she’s a goer.

The Ohwii

A double ended glass dildo, the Ohwii by Wicul

A double ended borosilicate glass dildo, the Ohwii by Wicul has two different shaped ends for different sensations. One end is to aim for the g-spot, and one end for the p-spot (I’ll give you a clue, I don’t have one of those). I’m afraid this one is just too pretty to use and I have so many already that I might have to play Dildo Fairy and send it as a gift.

It certainly feels heavy and substantial, however I can’t tell you too much about this one as I’ve not used it (wouldn’t really be an appropriate gift then…) and all the reviews appear to be in French (although they’re all cinq stars). It also comes with a pretty holographic protective case, and a keychain which is bound to start some kind of office gossip.

So anyway, what’s the deal with clitoral stimulators/suckers?

Yes we’ve been here before but let’s just recap for a second.

Meet the Biird Lumii clitoral stimulator

I talked before about the orgasm gap and why women, on average, get the rough end of the deal when it comes to sexual pleasure. I mean I don’t, but like, other women. Statistically speaking. There is a weirdly pervasive myth – it’s almost an ongoing joke – that women’s orgasms are somehow more difficult to achieve than men’s, but it just isn’t true. Given the right stimulation, there is nothing easier, and it can be done over, and over, and over. Lucky us. However in general you really need to get the clitoris involved as it’s estimated that fewer than 10% of women can climax through penetration alone.

The clitoris contains more than 10,000 nerve fibres, making it more sensitive than Donald Trump. It provides absolutely no reproductive purpose (can you imagine how sparsely populated the world would be if a woman had to orgasm to conceive? What a thought) – it is literally just there to provide pleasure – and yet it gets roundly ignored way, way too often.

That’s where clitoral stimulators (or ‘clit suckers’) come (ha) in. They’ve not been around for that long, but they’ve certainly made an impact.

Meet the Biird Lumii clitoral stimulator

Clit suckers provide battery-powered localised stimulation directly to the most sensitive part of your body with big results. Traditionally, vibrators were the only option, but now you can get toys like the Biird Namii which can stimulate all the nerve fibres inside the clit and not just the ones on the surface. The result – if you’re already in the mood – is a near instant orgasm. Woohoo! What’s not to love?

The Lumii is the newer, lighter and smaller version of the Namii (reviewed here), which just has one function (no vibrate option, no bedside light, just the itty bitty clit sucker).

Meet the latest toy, the Biird Lumii clitoral stimulator (review)

Lumii is the newest Biird creation. It’s a small, silicone sex toy with a pearlescent hard plastic middle section that comes in two pretty pastel colours; lilac and light blue. The Lumii fits in the palm of your hand. Charged with a magnetic charger (so it’s waterproof) it’s really easy to operate; turn on and off by long pressing the button, and then scroll through the seven intensities with a small press. There isn’t that much more to it!

It comes with a holographic storage pouch which has a mirror in it too, which is dead cute.

Biird Lumii clitoral stimulator review

It’s fairly difficult to objectively review sex toys as everyone’s biology is different – but hand on heart I’ve not come across anyone so far that has regretted purchasing the bigger and more expensive Biird Namii. The Lumii is functionally very similar; just a smaller, pared down version. For this Biird Lumii review, I’ve summarised the key points below.

If you have one, feel free to leave your own review in the comments and if you have questions, I will try and answer them!

Biird Lumii clitoral stimulator review

Pros of the Biird Lumii clitoral stimulator sex toy:

  • The Biird Lumii is really small and lightweight – weighing just 90g and measuring less than 8cm in diameter (and 3cm thick). Despite this, it’s still plenty powerful.
  • It delivers; it works. That’s the biggie. It works, and it works well. If you’re in the right mood you can have an orgasm in seconds. That’s pretty much all the Lumii review you need, but I’ll keep going…
  • It’s practically silent, even more so than the bigger Namii, so you don’t have to worry about the neighbours wondering what you’re up to, or the kids waking up. You could probably get away with it while someone was asleep next to you, but I’d probably suggest waking them up and getting them involved instead.
  • It’s waterproof (IP7X Water Resistant, ie it can be wholly submerged) so you can destress in the bath – after all, that’s what door locks are for.
  • It’s really easy to clean – you can just rinse under the tap and there aren’t any bumps and ridges to trap lube or fluids or whathaveyou.
  • It’s very cute and much less intimidating to sex toy newbies than, say, a big veiny cock. I doubt most people would even know be able to guess what it was on first glance.
  • The silicone body feels soft and tactile.
  • It’s very easy to work out how to use it. There are no annoying patterns or weird functions; it turns on and off with a long press and you can scroll through intensities with a short press. That’s it.
  • The Lumii charges really easily and quickly (about two and a half hours) and then you can use it for two hours or so before it needs recharging. This is via a small magnetic charger on the back.
  • The flat shape means you can wedge it between your thighs and go hands free for, er, interesting zoom meetings.
  • The box and the case are really ‘luxe’ which make it a great gift.
Pros of the Biird Lumii clitoral stimulator

Cons:

  • The Lumii is quite small and the ‘mouth’ has to be positioned just right to do its job effectively, which might make it less suited to couple’s play (no obvious jokes from me I’m afraid) than a magic wand for instance .
  • You can’t reduce the suction or intensity, only increase it. To decrease the suction level or intensity, you need to cycle through all 7 levels, although it’s really simple to do.
  • With an RRP of £75.99 the Biird Lumii clitoral stimulator featured in this review is more expensive than some toys on the market such as the Satisfyer Pro which is a budget sex toy delivering a similar function. However it doesn’t have the same feel or look as the Lumii, which is a really good quality small sex toy that works.
