grace & stella Mother’s Day pampering bundle

Kicking off this gift guide in style, vegan, cruelty-free skincare brand grace & stella have put together an epic Mother’s Day pampering bundle for any mum that deserves a bit of TLC. The bundle is made up of their top sellers including dark-circle reducing under eye masks, – a must have for any tired mum – their dead sea mud face mask which promises to make you glow, and my favourite of the bunch, the lavender body lotion which smells absolutely divine. It comes in a huge 470ml tube and costs £14.95. I haven’t tried the bath bombs yet but they too are scented with lavender – perfect for a relaxing bath before bed, as lavender aids sleep. Might stick one in the kids’ bath…

You can buy their really reasonably priced products from Amazon – you can even save money on Subscribe & Save – and be sure to follow them on Instagram.

7th Heaven Pamper Hamper

Entertainment

MAJORITY Bard Internet Radio System

Podcasts are my thing. I listen when I’m exercising, I listen when I’m walking the dog and when I’m meant to be working. The MAJORITY Bard Internet Radio System allows me to effortlessly stream my favourite podcasts and listen to DAB radio stations directly from the unit using the included remote control, or via my smartphone. It is also possible to stream music from Spotify using a connected smartphone.

We already have a MAJORITY sound bar for family cinema nights, and were pleasantly surprised at the quality for a fairly low cost product. This radio system is slightly more expensive with a full RRP of £152.95, but the sound quality is extremely good for a little machine, and it works! It is a nice, sleek looking unit which displays the time when not in use and would be perfect for a kitchen or bedroom – you can use the Bard as a radio alarm clock too. The ease of use means it would be a nice Mother’s Day present for an older mum who prefers things simple!

The MAJORITY Bard comes in black or white. It costs £152.95 and you can currently get 5% off on Amazon. You can win a Majority Bard Internet Radio System over on Instagram, check out the competitions below for more information.

Flex Deluxe Adult Micro Scooter

If you haven’t watched your kids scooting around and wished you could have a turn, you’re either very boring or a liar. The Flexible Deck Micro Scooter isn’t actually micro at all – it’s full sized and height-adjustable with large, 20cm wheels and is suitable for adults weighing up to 15 stone 10lb.

With a deck made from fibreglass and Polyacylate, it is flexible to absorb bumps as you ride. It comes in black or blue, and has a kickstand so you can park it standing, or it can be folded for easy storage. It weighs just over 5kg so is easy to transport when you can’t ride it, for example on public transport.

Whether it’s to keep up with your kids for a speedier school run or to make your short commute more environmentally friendly, or just for a little bit of fun, the Flex Deluxe Adult Micro Scooter costs £194.95 and you can buy it directly from Micro Scooters and Amazon here.

True Crime Stories by Big Potato Games

If I’m staying in (and let’s be honest, I’m usually staying in) then one of my favourite things to do with my partner is have a cocktail and do an escape room or collaborative crime solving puzzle. True Crime Stories by Big Potato Games is like three escape rooms in a box; the aim is to examine the evidence in the case files, spot the clues and decode maps to solve three real-life crimes.

Each case should take about an hour to solve and they get harder as you go through them. As gifts go, this one is right up my alley; I can’t wait to get stuck in.

It has an RRP of £29.99 and can be bought from their website here or from Amazon.

Big Potato Games make all sorts of games from adult party games to family board games. If you’d like a chance to win a board game bundle worth over £100 from Big Potato Games, check out the competitions below!

CDA ‘Nancy’ Retro Wine Cooler

If your mum is a wine lover this would be a totally decadent Mother’s Day present: Meet the Nancy Retro Wine Cooler made by CDA.

I initially wanted the white ‘cotton’ version, but when the retro dark blue and gold fridge turned up I knew exactly where it should go – in our front room, next to the blue sofa of dreams.

With room for 13 bottles of wine, plus a pull out shelf at the bottom for cheese and charcuterie (obviously) it’s a bit dangerous having Nancy so close to me at all times, and I’m having to learn willpower, but I love it. It has a light which you can turn on and off via the front panel, which can also alter the internal temperature between 5 and 22 degrees depending on whether you’re using it for red wine, white wine or champagne.

On the top there is even a wireless charging station for your smartphone which makes it everything I need for a night on the sofa.

It’s a beautiful, retro piece of decor which just happens to chill your wine to perfection. It would also look great as a cosmetics cooler if that’s your thing. The Nancy wine cooler has an RRP of £399 and is notably on sale for £339 at AO although there are stockists listed on the website.

Embossed ‘Annabelle’ Jewellery Box from Engraver’s Guild

I’ve amassed some lovely pieces of jewellery over the years, but until now I had nowhere to put them that wasn’t strewn all over my dressing table.

This lockable ‘Anabelle’ Jewellery box from Engraver’s Guild has two layers with plenty of space for rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces and whatever else you might want to keep safe. Made from soft bonded leather, it measures 25 x 21 x 11 cm and can be personalised with embossed initials. I adore it, and it looks perfect in my bedroom. I can easily see what jewellery I have, and nothing gets tangled or goes mysteriously missing. As Mother’s Day presents go, this one would be perfect..

It costs £75 including embossing and a gift box, and you can get it on their website here. You can win a £100 voucher to spend on anything you fancy at Engravers Guild in the competitions below.

4Lite LED Lantern & Speaker

As the spring starts to tease us, thoughts of enjoying an evening sitting in the garden on my pub bench with a drink aren’t far away.

This die-cast aluminium LED Lantern from 4Lite illuminates the whole area so you don’t have to worry about dark evenings. It comes with a rechargeable battery with charger and the integrated Bluetooth speaker means you can listen to some music or even your favourite podcast while you enjoy the outdoors. You can also use it to re-charge your phone if you have a USB cable handy.

It would make a lovely gift for a mum that likes to sit in her garden of an evening.

4Lite stockists include Maplin, Robert Dyas and others.

Primeur’s Tierra Verde self-watering planter

If your mum is a fan of flowers but often too busy to look after them properly then a self-watering planter would make a great Mother’s Day present.

Made from tough recycled rubber, Primeur’s Tierra Verde planters make caring for plants easy. The self-watering system means you can leave them unattended for a whole week and your plants will still look great. The planter is fine for indoor as well as outdoor use as it’s frost resistant and won’t crack

Ours is the a 33cm Sonata Planter in ‘slate’; which, thankfully, still looks stylish even while I’m waiting for the bulbs I’ve filled it with to burst into bloom in spring.

Must sort out that mossy patio…

Check out the Primeur website for the full range. You can buy this particular planter for £26 at B&Q.

Mason Cash ‘In the Forest’ platter

A life without charcuterie is no life at all. This ‘In the Forest’ round platter adorned with leaves and birds is the perfect way to present it, or cakes, or anything you like really. Probably don’t serve your guests pine cones though, that’s merely for show.

Measuring 30cm and in a lovely sage green colour, it’s microwave and dishwasher safe which is always a key consideration here! It goes with my ‘In the Forest’ serving board so I can serve bread alongside my cheese and meats and look classy doing it.

Mason Cash 'In the Forest' platter

If your mum is a keen host, this platter has an RRP of £22.50 on the Mason Cash website. You can see the whole collection here.

Viner’s 5-Piece Cheese Serving Set

A cheese board is among my favourite ways to spend the evening and I just love this Viner’s Cheese Board which comes with a stone cheese board for keeping cheese cool, four cheese tools (hard cheese knife, a soft cheese knife, a cheese chisel and a cheese fork for serving) and a magnetic block. I make that six pieces, but i’m not going to argue.

Unfortunately I’ve had to stop keeping cheese in the house because I kept eating it, pretty much continuously, so you’ll have to imagine what it looks like with cheese on it.

Viner's 5-Piece Cheese Serving Set mother's day presents for mum

If your mum, like me, is a big of a cheese lover then this cheese serving set will set you back £30.50 from the Viner’s website here or you can buy it for half price from Lakeland.

BiGDUG Shelving

OK, I concede that racking isn’t what immediately springs to mind when you think about Mother’s Day presents, but if your mum is the proud owner of a greenhouse or potting shed, or even a garage or office that could do with more storage then these are so simple to put up and provide all the shelf space she could possibly need for tools, equipment, stationery, small rodents etc etc.

The BiGDUG Essentials 3x Bay Shelving Kit clicks together without the need for tools other than the mallet provided. The kit comes with everything you need to put it together and when finished it holds up to 200kg per shelf!

Eagle eyed readers will notice that there are in fact two bays; the bays are built separately and the third is waiting on top of the existing shelves for our new shed to be built.

You can get can the BiGDUG Essentials 3x Bay Shelving Kit for as little as £95.99 from their website here.

Ivy Branch solar sight chain from Idyll Home

This Ivy Branch solar and mains powered light from Idyll Home has 96 warm white LED lights which can be powered by the mains or, if it’s outside or near a window, by solar power. It comes with cable tacks to place it on the wall; simply unfurl the cable and the ‘branches’ and you can place it however you like.

Initially it was destined for the garden, but when it arrived I decided it would go well in my son’s jungle and plant-themed room with hanging ivy, so that’s where it ended up, and it’s used as a nightlight as it can recharge in the day, come on automatically at dusk and turn itself off after 6 hours of use.

The Ivy Branch Light chain costs £39 from Idyll Home. They also stock a whole range of beautiful homewares, lighting and accessories which would make for great Mother’s Day presents. Check out their website here! You can win an Ivy Branch solar sight chain over on Instagram, check out the competitions below for more information.

Mattress Topper from Simba

All mums really want for Mother’s Day is the gift of sleep, but if you can’t guarantee that then a decent mattress is a good bet. If you can’t stretch to that, how about a mattress topper which can transform any mattress into a comfortable sleeping space?

This new Simba Hybrid Mattress Topper, which combines foam and Aerocoil microsprings, is great for adding cushioning. Unlike our previous memory foam topper it has breathable layers of ‘Simbatex’ foam, which allows airflow keeping you cooler while you sleep.
