I’m Fran; a 42-year-old mum, blogger, and freelance writer. This is my little corner of the internet where I write the posts, take the photos, and generally talk nonsense both here and over on social media.
I live in Reading, Berkshire with my two kids (a daughter who’s 12 and a son who’s 10) plus our dog, Izzy. My hobbies include saying I’ll have an early night, then scrolling Facebook until midnight, and finding increasingly elaborate ways to avoid housework. I like going to the gym and walking the dog, which should make me fitter, but unfortunately I also like eating good food and drinking good wine. Swings and roundabouts.

Whinge Whinge Wine began back in late 2015 when I was bone-tired, knee-deep in colic and reflux, and desperately needed somewhere to pour out my frustration; preferably in a way that would make people laugh rather than cry.
Fast-forward a decade, and there’s (thankfully) less vomit and a little more sleep, but I’m still here, writing about life. Sometimes it’s about motherhood, sometimes it’s just about being a person who happens to also be a mum, because yes (shock horror) you can be both.
This blog has given me brilliant opportunities, introduced me to some incredible people, and even won me a few shiny awards. Best of all, it’s allowed me to work from home around my kids, and I can honestly say I love it. So thank you for reading, sharing, and generally making this possible.
