Yours Clothing is a plus size clothing retailer, and while I wouldn’t categorise myself as plus size – more mid-size – they stock many of their clothes from a size 14 and go up to a size 40.
They have just had a load of brand spanking new party dresses drop on their website, so I picked my favourites for review.
YOURS LONDON Curve Green Check Print Skater Dress
This tartan check skater style dress has a flattering almost sweetheart-style neckline. It’s not quite as dressy as my other picks, but will probably get worn more than the others as it doesn’t require a special occasion – I’m not sure I can get away with sequins on the school run, but this one you definitely could with trainers or boots.
The tartan is a pattern which is printed onto stretchy fabric and not woven like you might expect from the images on the website. This means it has more stretch than you might be expecting but maybe isn’t as high quality as a woven fabric dress.
It comes with a tie waist, which I took off immediately and replaced with a more flattering stretchy waist belt – they’re my absolute wardrobe staple (I often get them cheap from Amazon e.g. here and here).
One thing I find with Yours party dresses is that often the belt loops for the tie waist sit a little high for me – under the bust as opposed to on my waist. I think this is probably a fairly usual feature of plus size garments but it is something to consider if you have more of an hourglass shape.
Although I really like the design and am sure I will get a lot of wear out of it over the winter, it wasn’t my favourite piece of the three. I thought that fit-wise it was baggy around the waist and much tighter on the bust area than other items of clothing I’ve had from Yours, and it unfortunately started to pull in some areas after just one wear, which is poor and not what I’ve come to expect from Yours Clothing.

YOURS LONDON Curve Forest Green Dobby Pleat Shirt Midi Dress
This dress is just so pretty and floaty, and I love the sleeves! Available in green, black and rose pattern it has sheer long sleeves covered in dots, and the a layer of the same floaty fabric hangs pleated over an opaque skirt. The top buttons up at the front, and there is a tie waist.
Once again, the bust comes up a little small, which is a bit of a pain for button down dresses as they tend to stretch and gape. I get this problem all the time with any buttoned clothing so while this isn’t unusual (I’m sure that there will be plenty of you reading this who can relate) I did assume that perhaps plus size clothing would perhaps be cut a bit more generously over the bust area. However that’s not necessarily the case so I will need to stitch the top up before I wear it out, or use safety pins.

YOURS LONDON Curve Red Sequin Embellished Shift Dress
My favourite of the three I chose this time, this sequinned dress is so sparkly and joyful I couldn’t stop smiling while I was wearing it. It definitely screams Christmas party and definitely isn’t an everyday wear dress! If you have some festive gatherings planned then this could be the perfect size 14-32 party dress.
A knee-length shift with capped sleeves, this one is has a fair bit of stretch in it and zips up at the back. I think it’s definitely the most flattering of the three dresses and it’s without a doubt the sparkliest!
The sequins DO shed a little, so you may want to wear it around your own house and wash it (it’s machine washable but clean out your filter afterwards!) before wearing it over to a friend’s house.

YOURS LONDON Curve Black & Silver Sequin Wrap Skater Dress
Part of my previous pick, which I wore to the BlogOn Nightmare Before Christmas party, I thought I’d include this one in my Yours Clothing size 14 Christmas Party Dress roundup.
I liked the look of this festive long sleeved sequined black dress. The dress has a v-necked wrap style top with a skater style skirt which comes just below the knee. There is a removable tie waist, with belt loops if you want to add your own belt – I think a black belt with a silver buckle would look good as an alternative.
There’s plenty of room in the top – so it would make a good option for a fuller bust. It isn’t too low cut which I prefer to avoid if possible, so no need to put in stitches or pin the top up. The dress is made from a soft knit fabric with plenty of stretch and washes up nicely too.

Yours Clothing: Size 14 clothing review: Are they a good fit?
All of the items I chose in a size 14. I find that clothes from Yours are generally a good fit erring on the size of big, if anything. All of the dresses I’ve had from there have had plenty of fabric and most have elasticated or stretchy material.
Is Yours Clothing any good for size 14 clothes?
As a plus size retailer, Yours Clothing might not be your first choice to visit if you happen to be at the smaller end of their range however a lot of their autumn/winter clothing and Christmas party dresses (including those featured here) starts at a 14 (some at a size 16) so it is definitely worth a look .
