I have a rule when it comes to gifts for my own dad that goes if you can’t eat it or drink it, don’t bother. That’s why these are the biggest sections in this gift guide.

Cadbury’s Chocolate

We’ll kick off with the most popular gift: Who can say no to chocolate? Weirdos that’s who. Cadbury’s Dairy Milk is the chocolate of choice for many people and Heroes are the obvious choice for Father’s Day if your dad happens to be your hero.

The No 1 Dad chocolate bar mean he doesn’t have to share because his name is literally on it.

Green & Black’s Organic Chocolate

Green & Blacks is what I call ‘posh chocolate’. Made from organic cocoa beans, Green & Blacks chocolate is certified by the Fairtrade Foundation and if you want something a bit fancier (or, perhaps your dad just prefers dark chocolate) then why not check out their Father’s Day selection? The ginger is my favourite.

Do you have a dad who is a barbecue fiend? With barbecue season upon us, Traeger Grills are a huge name in the barbecue world, selling grills as well as all sorts of barbecue accessories and rubs to make your barbecue food delicious.

I’ll be honest; if you’re a champagne snob then this probably isn’t the one for you. Having drunk a bottle it isn’t particularly classy stuff, more akin to Appletiser than decent champers. However it’s certainly got the novelty factor as you can get it personalised with your dad’s very own name.

Holy Grass Scottish Vodka

Vodka is the spirit you’ll always find in my cupboard, being as it is the base for my very favourite cocktail, the French Martini. This award-winning 41.5% ABV Scottish vodka is is smooth and, the makers claim, bewitching.  I’ve never thought of vodka as bewitching before, but I’ll tell you what, it’s actually rather ‘soft’ and much more enjoyable than the cheap supermarket vod which tastes more like paint stripper.

Mikasa Cheers Martini Glasses

Drinkmate Omnifizz Carbonated Drinks Maker

This amazingly handy little toolkit will have dad fixing his electronics in no time. The set contains a variety of tools for smartphones, laptops and more. I can’t be trusted without a phone case, but the popsocket recently fell off mine and as a result I drop it about twice a day. When I asked others for suggestions of gifts for men, bird tables, bird houses etc were very popular.

I have worked with Trendhim before and ended up keeping the glasses for myself, so this time we went for a different pair of polarised sunglasses.

I loved the the PU leather glasses case which folds flat so it can be stored in your bag when you’re wearing the glasses.

A good quality leather belt is a gift that can’t really go wrong; as long as you know roughly what size the recipient is, it is something that could be used every day.

Towersey Festival

Towersey is the UK’s longest-running independent festival, taking part over the August bank holiday weekend. While the younguns are flocking into Reading, I’ll be leaving it to journey to nearby Oxfordshire to see Bill Bailey! The family-friendly line up also includes Del Amitri, Imelda May and Turin Brakes among many, many others.

Driving Experience
