(Wrong season? Looking for something else? See the rest of my Yours Clothing reviews here!)

It is officially spring – even if it doesn’t feel particularly warm and spring like, I have it on good authority that the weather will cheer up soon and getting changed in order to take pictures of new outfits won’t be quite as painful as it has been since winter set in. I can’t wait for April to arrive. Bring on light jacket/cardi weather.

If you’re looking for mid-sized clothing or plus size outfits for spring, then Yours Clothing, who I work with fairly often have a good selection of dresses, jeans, tops and cardis which are perfect for layering up when it’s more chilly.

One of the things I get asked a lot is why I work with Yours Clothing – who are a plus size clothing retailer – when I am not plus size, and more midsize (size 12-14 in most places). Although Yours sell their clothes in up to a size 40, they are really inclusive and start at a size 14. I find that they tend to fit well, sometimes coming up large but so far never small, and most of their dresses come with tie waists or else they can have belts added to bring them in. I have a selection of fairly cheap elasticated waist belts from Amazon which I use to cinch in most outfits and make them feel more dressy and flattering.

They also sell boots (you can see mine here) for those with wide feet and, like me, large calves which don’t fit into standard knee-high boots.

I chose three items of clothing to review this time. Here are my picks!

YOURS Curve Black Floral High Low Dress

The first was this black floral dress – which I also have in yellow (see the post here).

With a high V-neck neckline and buttons down the front, this dress has an elasticated waist which is fairly loose; you could probably size down in this one if your size wasn’t available. I’ve stuck a waist belt around it to cinch it in.

It features a ruffled hem which is longer at the back than the front, and kimono sleeves which are really flattering.

(Please excuse the state of my living room; I’m moving next week and packing boxes like my life depends on it, and it’s far too cold and wet to take pictures outside. As you can see, I’m a brilliant model. Ahem).

This dress is made from a soft 100% viscose fabric, and is really easy to wash and dry. It comes in sizes 14-40, there are four different colour options, and it costs £36.99 here.

YOURS Curve Black Pointelle Balloon Sleeve Cardigan

I also went for this black balloon-sleeved cardigan with scalloped edging and big buttons. It’s a size 14-16, so I was expecting it to be fairly baggy on me and it is but I love the style. The pointelle fabric gives a glimpse of whatever you have on underneath.

I think it goes really well with jeans for a comfy, relaxed look. I’ve worn it and washed it several times already and it’s still lovely and snuggly.

It’s also available in pink, and in sizes up to 34/36 and it costs £23.99; you can find it here.

YOURS LONDON Curve Green Animal Print Shirt Dress

Finally, I chose a long-sleeved shirt dress in green with navy animal print detail with a tie waist and pockets. I’ve a very similar dress which I bought a few years ago and love, however unfortunately it no longer fits comfortably and this one is the perfect replacement.

If you like animal print or other patterns, you can customize them into personalised accessories – for example, custom patches. You can choose custom patches such as custom Velcro patches, Custom Iron On Patches, heat transfer patches, etc., and then incorporate some personalised patterns/text which suit your own style. Personalised patches can add a unique touch of color to your outfit. If you like the idea of customised patches, take a look at patches.ca.

Two things I’d say about the design compared to what I was expecting; the description says 3/4 length sleeves but they are definitely full length sleeves (unless I have short arms?!) and it is a more bluey-green and less bright than I was expecting. I also assumed that it would have black animal print detail but this is navy blue; fortunately I happened to have the perfect shoes for it!

The only downsides to this dress is that like any shirt dress there is the potential for boob gapage, so I’d recommend a safety pin to keep the top closed! Also, although it looks lovely, as it’s made of polyester wearing tights with it can lead to static building up and the dress sticking to you!

However I think it’s a really lovely, flattering design and I’m somewhat annoyed I threw my food right down it on the first wear.

There is also a black and white design and they come in sizes 14 to 32. It costs £39.99 here.
