A pair of sunglasses from GlassesShop
It’s summer, and the sun is at least threatening to come out – so why not choose your dad a new pair of prescription sunglasses so he can look great and avoid the sun’s glare?

Whether your dad has 50/50 vision or wears prescription eyeglasses, there is a massive range of cheap sunglasses on GlassesShop. You can even get your first pair free and they come with a glasses case. They also do ranges for kids and for women.

A selection of red wines
It wouldn’t be a Father’s Day gift guide without wine, and if red is your dad’s tipple, then there are loads of reasonably priced, delicious reds out there to try!
I was sent three different bottles to sample (and by sample I mean drink); a Spanish Rioja (Cune Cruanza, 2020), a Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon (Errazuriz Estate, 2022) and an Australian Shiraz (Robert Oatley Semaphore Series, 2021).
The Rioja (14%) is a dry and fruity, plummy medium bodied wine with oaky notes – a great accompaniment for lamb or beef dishes or tapas.
The Cabernet Sauvignon (13.5%) is a smooth, well balanced wine with notes of dark fruits. Very easy drinking, perfect with red meats.
Finally, the Shiraz (14%) is a versatile wine which has flavours of fruits including blackcurrant and plumb and spice. This one was my favourite of the three!

The Rioja has an RRP of £11.90 and can be bought from Ocado, Sainsbury’s and Majestic.
The Cabernet Sauvignon has an RRP and can be bought from Amazon, and local supermarkets.
The Shiraz is £10 and exclusive to Co-op.
CellarDine Rouge O2 wine aerator
If you’re gifting a nice bottle of red wine, then this Rouge O2 wine aerator is a great accessory to accompany it. The spout means you pour the perfect glass of wine with no drips, and the air flow system aerates the wine as it’s poured making it taste even better!

This handy little gadget costs £15 and you can buy it from the website or from Amazon here.
Kleine Zalze South African Brut sparkling wine
If you’re celebrating then it has to be fizz! A new wine to me, Kleine Zalze Cap Classique Brut NV (Western Cape, South Africa) is a 12% sparkling wine. Made from 60% Chardonnay grapes and 40% Pinot Noir, it is made in the same way as Champagne.
Citrussy with aromas of tart apples, it’s a lovely light golden, fresh and fizzy with tiny delicate bubbles and not too sweet. A lovely treat with seafood or on its own, sitting in the sunshine!

It has an RRP of £21 from Cheers Wine Merchant, Amps Wine Merchants

Calvet Sancerre
Sancerre, in the Loire Valley, produces one of France’s most popular white wines, and it also happens to be one of Frances’ favourites too (get it?). A fruity Sauvignon Blanc with lots of citrussy aromas and flinty notes, this 2023 Calvet Sancerre is from one of the oldest wine brands in the region. If your dad likes a decent white with nice acidity to it, then this is definitely one to consider.

Calvet Sancerre has an RRP of £18.50 and can be bought from Ocado.
LaChateau Crémant de Loire Brut
If I have something to celebrate, then Loire Valley Crémant is usually my go-to for sparkling wine and this one is a treat! I think it provides all the taste and cork-popping excitement of Champagne while providing much better value for money.
Straw yellow in colour, this Crémant is fruity and zesty but still dry with lots of nice, fine bubbles. Cheers!

The RRP of this Cremant is £16 and you can get it from Ocado
Nirvana Brewery alcohol-free lager and beer
If you are looking for a non-alcoholic or low-alcohol alternative this Father’s Day, Nirvana Brewery have got you covered. CellarDine ‘Zap Cap’ bottle opener
A great gift for beer drinkers, the CellarDine stainless steel Zap Cap bottle opener is a clever and easy way to remove crown caps in seconds. Simply place it on the top, punch it down, and the cap is removed for disposal.

It looks pretty stylish in stainless steel but is also available in other finishes. You can get it on the website here and it costs £13.
Tovaritch! Vodka
Dad more of a spirits man? A crucial ingredient in my favourite cocktail, the French Martini (which you can see us making here!), Tovaritch! vodka is five-times distilled and twenty-times filtered, resulting in a distinct purity. Previously made in Russia, in response to the war in Ukraine, the company’s Swiss owners have moved production to Latvia. It’s the winner of lots of international awards – in fact it claims to be the world’s ‘most awarded’ vodka.

You can find TOVARITCH! Premium Vodka (ABV 37.5%) at good drinks retailers including Amathus Drinks (RRP £23-25).
Local Legends – Hidden Pubs of London
If your dad is interested in pubs or has a strong connection with London, this new book featuring 38 of London’s hidden gems combines beautiful photography with witty and characterful introductions and is a great addition to my Father’s Day Gift Guide. What would have been called a ‘coffee table’ book but much more suited to a home bar, you can dive in and out – and maybe even use it as a list of destinations to visit, try and tick off.

It has an RRP of £32.50 but you can find out the current price on Amazon here.

St Michel Choco Muffins
If you want to give the personal touch but you’re a bit rubbish at baking then St Michel Choco Muffins are perfect for decorating and making it look like you at least tried to make something. They’re a lot nicer than they would be if young kids made them, too. Individually wrapped, they also make a good lunch box treat.

All the good stuff.

Opinel barbecue set
If there’s one thing we are told that dads are all supposed to love, it’s barbecuing. And true to stereotype, as soon as the weather gets nice enough to cook outside, the grill goes on. We’ve had a few this year already!
These premium barbecue tools from Opinel are not only really useful, but look pretty good too. Included in the set is a pair of stainless steel 40cm tongs to make handling hot food safe, and these come with a grid-lifting slot at the end too.
There’s also a folding knife with a 16cm steel blade. When the knife is folded down, the spatula (which measures a hefty 8.5cm x 20cm, big enough to flip even the biggest of burgers) fits and locks into the handle of the knife. Nifty!

The RRP is £99.95 and it can be bought here: https://berryuseful.co.uk/products/opinel-barbecue-set.
Kilner Glass Seasoning Grinder Set
