I really loved the Yours Clothing summer dresses that I picked, and now that summer has disappeared for good I was really keen to go back and take a look at the new autumn/winter range of plus size (14-40) clothing, including Christmas party suitable dresses, chunky knit jumpers, boots and jackets.
Yours Clothing: Size 14 clothing review
Yours Clothing is a plus size clothing retailer, and while I wouldn’t categorise myself as plus size, they stock many of their clothes from a size 14 and up to a size 40.
All of the items I chose in a size 14. I find that clothes from Yours are generally a good fit erring on the size of big, if anything. All of the dresses I’ve had from there have had plenty of fabric and most have elasticated or stretchy material.
YOURS LONDON Curve Black & Silver Sequin Wrap Skater Dress
As it gets darker and colder, thoughts turn to Christmas parties and there are plenty of party dresses on the Yours website to choose from.
I liked the look of this festive long sleeved sequined black dress. The dress has a v-necked wrap style top with a skater style skirt which comes just below the knee. There is a removable tie waist, with belt loops if you want to add your own belt – I a black belt with a silver buckle would look good as an alternative.
There’s plenty of room in the top – so it would make a good option for a fuller bust. It isn’t too low cut which I prefer to avoid if possible, so no need to put in stitches or pin the top up. The dress is made from a soft knit fabric with plenty of stretch and washes up nicely too.
This party dress costs £45.99 and there are to designs; a black sequinned version and the silver ‘chain mail’ effect version that I chose.
YOURS LONDON Curve Grey Leopard Midi Wrap Dress
Next up, this animal print wrap dress is available in seven different colours, with more similar dresses available here too.
I liked the grey leopard print;although it looks almost purple in these pictures it is definitely more grey. It’s made of thin material; polyester with a little elastane, so although it can cling particularly if tumble dried it also washes really easily, dries quickly and doesn’t need ironing.
Again it’s not actually a full wrap dress, instead coming with an elasticated waist and a matching tie and belt loops. It has flared sleeves and is ankle length
This wrap dress is available in sizes 14-32, and costs £39.99.
Green Longline Midi City Coat
My favourite of the three items I chose was this green midi coat, which is absolutely perfect for autumnal school runs. I bloody love it!
It’s oversized – so you could size down if you needed to – and just the thing for wearing over layers as it gets colder, and would look great with jeans and boots.
It’s got two buttons at the front, although personally I think it looks better open. There are pockets to the side with front flaps and a big collar.
There are five designs; black, burgundy, beige and black and beige check as well as the green. This green longline midi city coat costs £59.99 and available up to a size 38-40.
What is Yours Clothing like for size 14 clothes?
As a plus size retailer, Yours Clothing might not be your first choice to visit if you happen to be at the smaller end of their range however a lot of their autumn/winter clothing (including those featured here) starts at a 14 (some at a size 16) so it is definitely worth a look .
