This is a collaborative post: There are times when cleaning my home feels like more of a chore than it should, and I never seem to be able to get it all caught up. If you ever feel the same way, then you may want to do what I do and simplify your cleaning. Why not look for ways to spend less time doing the same work and do it more efficiently? Why not simplify your cleaning and your life with better cleaning methods?
Here are some ways you can make things easier on yourself when it comes to trying to keep your home looking presentable, livable, and attractive. These are some of the same cleaning hacks suggested by one of Bondi’s best house cleaners.
Break Up the Cleaning Tasks
The first simplifying method I like to use is to clean a little bit here and there rather than trying to tackle everything at once. Have you ever attempted to clean your whole home in one go and felt completely exhausted partway through? Even people with small homes can feel like that because cleaning everything at once is a lot of work.
What I like to do is break the work up and clean a bit in the morning and then some more in the evening after work. I save some cleaning for the weekend, but I also do a little bit of cleaning every chance I get. This makes the workload not feel like so much, and it feels much more manageable to me. You can do this by making up a cleaning schedule as well, which should be suited to your needs and your home to make it work for you.
One method that works well for me is to break up my cleaning into 20-minute periods. I just time myself to do as much cleaning as I can in that time and then leave the rest for next time. This way, I don’t get too worn out, and I can get something done in that short period as well.
Clean Spills Fast
I cannot stress how important it is to clean up any spill you see as soon as it happens. This is especially true of liquid spills, though. Those can seep into the carpet and other materials and make a stain or simply become harder to clean up later on. If you want to keep things simple for yourself, don’t wait to tackle spills. Keep cleaning supplies on hand so that you have the tools to tidy up right away, and then address spills immediately so they don’t have the chance to get any worse.
The biggest, baddest spills like pet urine, wine, and chemicals can often be easier to clean up if you deal with them as soon as you notice them.
Use a Robot Vacuum
One of the most helpful cleaning innovations to come along in a while is the robot vacuum. Whether it is a Roomba or something similar, this can do a lot of the work for you, cleaning while you go about your day. Your robot vacuum will tidy up all sorts of dust, dirt and debris, giving you a cleaner home and leaving you less work to do. Your house will stay cleaner for longer, so you won’t have to clean the floors as often. If you are looking for a time-saving tip for home cleaning, then buying a reliable robot vacuum is one of the better pieces of advice I can give you. Just take the time to do your research and get one that will work well in your home and that will have the kind of features that are useful in that environment.
Hire Professional Maid Services
If you are looking for a way to really cut back on how much housework you have to do, then you can’t do any better than having a professional cleaning company in San Antonio (or wherever you reside) come and do some tidying up for you. They can clean while you are at work or while you are in the house, and they will take care of everything from sweeping floors and wiping counters to washing dishes and scrubbing tiles. That’s a lot of work you won’t have to do, and just imagine what you can do with all of that extra time and energy.
Use Multipurpose Cleaners
I looked in my cleaning supply storage closet one day and wondered if I needed all of those cleaners. I mean, I had separate cleaning chemicals for bathroom tiles, kitchen counters, windows, furniture, stains, and more. Did I really need a different cleaner for everything?
I did a little research and found that homemade cleaners can do a lot of the work of storebought cleaners and are much cheaper and more versatile. I learned that I could clean so many things with a little baking soda– stains, grout, tiles, and more. I learned that a good detergent and some water will clean just about everything else. If you feel overwhelmed by all of your cleaning supplies, you may want to simplify what you have. Try using multipurpose cleaners or make your own using very inexpensive and effective items you probably already have in your home. There is a huge industry built up around home cleaning, and I think about half of the cleaners that people use are redundant and were just made for the purpose of stretching sales.
Use Better Cleaning Tools
The final tip I want to share with you is to buy quality cleaning products. The mop, broom, and cleaning cloths you use should be of decent quality. If they are made well, then they should clean well. You will spend less time cleaning if your broom does a good job of collecting all of the first for you. You won’t have to scrub as much if your scrubbing pad is abrasive and durable. Choose good cleaning supplies and replace poor quality ones to keep your cleaning simple and more effective.
