Inappropriate Secret Santa Christmas gift guide for people you hate (and your boss)

Three things to buy for someone that has everything

This is a collaborative post: With Christmas fast approaching, it is time to really start thinking about what to buy people. I don’t know about you, but I often struggle with what to buy grown-ups. Children are easy and are often happy with the latest toy or a new computer game, but what do you buy adults who seemingly have everything?

If you have cash to splash

If you have cash to splash then a trip to www.carusjewellery.com might well be in order. I have been having a wishful browse of their website and they have some really beautiful pieces of antique jewellery. What I have noticed about the collection is that it really is curated to contain some stunning pieces. The jewellery here is so different from what you would usually get on the high street. Yes, the budget to buy something such as an Art Deco 3 Stone Sapphire Ring isn’t there for everyone, but they also have some really special affordable pieces too.

I think items like this can make a really nice gift, as they’re investment pieces that people are likely to keep for a while.

Buying something practical

I’m not suggesting you rush out and buy someone a new ironing board, but there is definitely something to be said for buying something that someone actually needs. There are loads of lifehack and handy gadgets out there, which means that not only do you get to buy someone a great  gift – but you get to make their life easier too!

Perhaps they need a new knife sharpener or some really comfortable walking boots. Think about the day to day things that you use in your life and what things you wouldn’t want to be without. Is there something that your friend has mentioned they wish they had or something you know they’;d like? Even if it doesn’t seem like the most exciting gift why not get it for them? You can always wrap it with some chocolates and a bottle of wine if you’re worried about the present not being exciting enough.

Take them for a day out

I think most of us would agree that there has not been enough days out in 2020. Why not consider taking your loved one on a day out as a gift? You can buy all sorts of vouchers for days out – afternoon tea, spa days, adventure days etc. Or you could make your own and treat them to a shopping trip around Primark.

Most of us have spent this year not seeing enough of the people we care about and are hopefully that 2021 will bring something different – so giving people the gift of your time could be perfect!
