Paw Patrol is the one thing my son loves before everything else (including me, probably) and the newest Paw Patrol toys are always at the top of his wish list for birthdays and Christmas.

Now, a more cynical person than I might point out that last year’s Paw Patrol film Mighty Pups was merely a ruse to make kids want double the amount of stuff (no, darling, you can’t have the Mighty Pups Lookout Tower given that the one you have already takes over your entire bedroom) but there’s no denying that the Paw Patrol Mighty Jet Command Centre is an exciting toy, and when he saw it during a trip to Hamleys his eyes lit up.

Fortunately I was able to get my hands on one for review so Father Christmas may just bring him what he wants this year…
The Paw Patrol Mighty Pups Mighty Jet Command Centre
The Mighty Jet comes already assembled, with 3AAA batteries included. It is kept in the box with twist locks, but is easy to get out. The only thing to do before playing with it is to apply the stickers to the inside to create the Command HQ, and switch it on at the bottom.
The Mighty Jet is a very large toy at almost two feet in length; much bigger than the Paw Patrol Air Patroller.

As with the Air Patroller, the Mighty Jet has a cockpit for Ryder (who comes with the Mighty Jet) and space inside for the Paw Patrol pups. It also has flying sounds and lights which are activated by pressing a button on the jets.
The jets can be moved backwards and forwards with the little button on the side.

Unlike the Air Patroller, there is no carry handle with which to lift the jet up and fly it making it slightly more difficult to manoeuvre, and it is quite a lot heavier too! I would say it’s best kept on the ground (it is sturdy as there are two legs to keep it propped up) rather than flying through the air.

The reason that it’s so big is that the jet switches into a mobile command headquarters playset.
Lift the handle to open up the jet easily and flip down the platform to make room for pups to stand. Inside, there is room for all of the Mighty Pups and one vehicle – note that the light-up Mighty Pups figures are sold separately and don’t come with the Mighty Jet, but of course we already had a set.

Other features of the Mighty Jet
At the front of the Mighty Jet is a detachable Mini Jet. Push the button to launch the cockpit out of the Mighty Jet.

The cockpit can shoot discs. Load the discs into the disc launcher at the front of the cockpit and press the button to propel them across the room! They go pretty far and fast so try to aim away from any siblings, pets or furniture they could get lost underneath!

As well as opening up to act as a command centre playset, the back of the Mighty Jet can be opened up to store pups or a vehicle.
What did we think?
The Mighty Jet is a big toy and committed Paw Patrol fans will love it.
Although there isn’t a huge interactive element apart from the lights and sounds and disc shooter, the way it opens up to become a command centre means it will become central to future missions.
It’s sturdy and will survive a bit of a battering, and although it’s bulky you can store pups and a car inside it when its put away – and let’s face it, it’s smaller than the control tower!

Paw Patrol toys are my son’s absolute favourite and he can spend hours in his room playing with them, so I am very sure that the Mighty Jet will be put to use in many Mighty Pups missions!
