Disclaimer: I was sent this personalised gold locket to review free of charge, but words and pictures are mine. See more information here.
LOVELOX London is a British jewellery brand who specialise in personalised gold, rose gold and silver lockets.

Their mission is “to create treasured keepsakes to celebrate meaningful moments in your life”. LOVELOX offered me a locket to review, and I thought I’d treat myself as my birthday was coming up. My children asked me what I wanted (knowing full well I’d end up paying for it) so I told them I’d like them to select the pictures to go inside and write a message for the inscription on the back of my LOVELOX London locket.

I have some beautiful silver necklaces already so to mix it up a bit I chose a plain, heart-shaped locket, made of solid 925 sterling silver plated in 18 carat gold. The necklace has a long 20-24 inch chain, which gives me the option to wear it long or do it up to one of two shorter lengths – 20 or 22 inches. This locket is also available in silver and rose gold, and with a 16/18 inch chain if you prefer your necklaces shorter.

Although you can put your own pictures inside, from experience this can be fiddly and it’s much easier when it arrives ready-printed! It’s simple to personalise the locket with your own pictures with the LOVELOX online tool; inside my locket are two printed pictures of my children, which were chosen by them. On the back, an inscription shows their chosen message (which I didn’t look at until the necklace arrived!) in the script font which they also chose.
The starting price of the plain heart-shaped gold locket is £79. The rose gold version retails for the same price, and the same locket in silver costs £60. Adding an up-to-18-character inscription costs an additional £7 – you can choose to have your writing in script (like mine), sans serif or Times and you can also alter the size of the text. Adding the two photographs costs £13 (£9 for the first, and £4 for the second); these are printed in full colour and come ready-inserted. For a longer chain like mine, add £7 to the initial cost which means my locket – complete with longer chain, two pictures and inscription – would have cost me £106 plus postage.

It arrived in under a week, with a lovely hinged jewellery box inside a larger, branded gift box. It would make a lovely gift – particularly for a mum who wants to carry her children with her wherever she goes. Mine has already come with me all the way to Italy!
The heart locket pendant itself is around 18mm x 18mm so quite delicate and elegant. It has an external clip which is easy to click open and closed to view the pictures inside. In terms of aesthetics, I really am so glad I went for the longer chain, I love how it hangs, and how it looks with roll-necked tops. Although more intricate lockets are available, I like the lock of the plain heart the most.

My LOVELOX London personalised engraved locket is a wonderful keepsake and a beautiful piece of jewellery that I will cherish. You can see the whole range of plain and engraved gold lockets over on their website. Follow them on Instagram and Facebook to keep up to date.
If jewellery is your thing, stay tuned as in two weeks I’ll have giveaway for a wonderful personalised necklace from The Engraver’s Guild.
