Jana Reinhardt Jewellery: Silver hummingbird necklace review

I don’t often buy jewellery, because I am quite fussy and I know what I like! However when I was offered a piece of Jana Reinhardt jewellery to review, I took a look at their website and realised that it matched my taste completely!

Jana Reinhardt are an online family business run by Jana and her husband Ross, who are both goldsmiths.

They happen to be based in my home town of Worthing in West Sussex and all of their jewellery, much of which is inspired by nature and features birds and animals, is all hand made in the UK.

After browsing the website, I chose a beautiful handcrafted, textured hummingbird necklace in 925 sterling silver.

It came inside a beautiful embossed presentation box.

With one side flat and the other textured with feathery detail, my hummingbird necklace measures 2cm x 2cm, and came on a 16/18inch 1mm silver curb chain.

You can select the length of the chain you want from 16/18 inches (41/46 cm) or 20/22 inches (52/57cm); the shorter length is perfect for me as I prefer more high-necked clothes.

For an additional fee of £15 (for three letters) or £20 (for up to 20), you can even have your hummingbird necklace engraved on the back with your own personalisation; a lovely idea if it’s a gift for somebody special.

The textured hummingbird necklace is also available in 9ct and 18ct solid gold, platinum, white gold, rose gold, 22ct yellow gold plated and 18ct rose gold plated.

The silver necklace is the cheapest at £95, with the platinum version being £770.

There is also an untextured version of the hummingbird necklace which is slightly cheaper (but not as beautiful, in my opinion). You can also get earrings and rings to match!

The necklace clasp is easy to do up (even I could manage it without help!) and if you clip it on the smaller setting, there is a 2 inch strand of chain with a small, branded pendant which hangs down the back of the neck in a really elegant way.

I love my new necklace. It’s perfect for every day wear and special occasions alike. It’s the perfect length to wear with more high-necked tops which I like, and the design is lovely; I’ve had a lot of compliments on it!
