Lilienthal Berlin are a German watchmaker who make beautiful unisex watches with stunning German design and production.
They pride themselves on being as sustainable as possible with their watches, packaging and postage, and support local charitable and cultural projects in Berlin where they are based. We were offered the chance to review a Lilienthal Berlin watch of our choice.
I gave my husband the choice, and he went for the L1 ‘All Blue’ wristwatch.
Presentation
The Lilienthal Berlin ‘All Blue’ men’s wristwatch is really nicely packaged and very gift-worthy.
The watch came inside a box contained within a white outer sleeve.
With the sleeve removed, inside is a black monogrammed box.
In the box, with the watch in a made-to measure velvet insert, are details including the two year guarantee, as well as some cute branded Lilienthal Berlin postcards.
The website notes that all of the packaging is made in Germany, and is sustainable.
Look and feel
We have reviewed quite a few watches before (see posts here), but the Lilienthal Berlin ‘All Blue’ watch definitely offers something a bit different.
This style watch is available in a larger 42.5mm and smaller 37.5mm size. We opted for the larger men’s wristwatch.
The matte casing is made of pure 316L surgical steel and is coloured a dark blue.
The casing is 7.5mm thick and not too heavy at 63g (the smaller watch weighs 50g), but it still feels solid and is smooth and pleasing to hold.
The face is simple, with a dark blue face and easy-to-read white numbers and hands which even glow in the dark.
The face has the minutes around the outside of the watch, and then the hours inside.
It has a beautifully supple leather strap in dark blue to match. It’s plant-tanned meaning no harsh chemicals have been used to process it, and it feels very soft!
Features
Quick release straps mean that the watch straps and the entire look of the watch can be changed quickly and easily if you purchase an additional strap.

It’s easy to set; pull the crown out, twist until it shows the correct time, and push back in.
There is a second hand inset into the watch face, but it doesn’t have a date. The hands and face are easy to read and glow in the dark.

The larger watch costs £219, and the smaller faced watch £209. This includes a two year guarantee and free delivery.
The Lilienthal Berlin L1 ‘All Blue’ is a very beautiful watch, and excellent quality.
It feels smooth and well made and would make a beautiful gift.
