Disclaimer: I was sent the L’Occitane Classic Beauty Advent Calendar 2021 free of charge but words and pictures are all mine.
In a month we’ll be on the countdown to Christmas, and if you’re looking to treat yourself to the perfect beauty advent calendar then L’Occitane have three different advent calendars this year.
I absolutely love L’Occitane products and for years I’ve coveted their annual advent calendars but always wondered if they were worth splurging on, given that Christmas is already a very expensive time of year!
This year, L’Occitane’s Luxury Beauty Advent Calendar has a retail price of £99 and contains 24 products with a value of £141.50. The Reusable Advent Calendar, which, as the name suggests, can be re-used in future years retails for £160, and contains a huge £236 worth of L’Occitane products.
Finally, the L’Occitane Christmas Classic Beauty Advent Calendar costs £55 and contains £95 of products – mostly miniatures with one full-sized hand cream.
I was sent the 2021 L’Occitane Classic Beauty Advent Calendar to review.
Yes, I am absolutely living my best life right now, as they say. Anyway, as much as it pained me to do so, I opened it up a month or two early and here are my thoughts in what was lurking inside…

As an aside, if you don’t want to know what is inside the L’Occitane Christmas Classic Beauty Advent Calendar this year, then maybe don’t read any further as it most definitely contains spoilers. Also, why are you here? What were you expecting? I’m confused.
For everyone else…

I did a little unboxing video over on Instagram if you want to see which product is behind each window. My presenting skills are a bit naff but I had fun…
What are the products like?
My favourite L’Occitane products that I’ve tried are the Amande range, made with almond oil. The advent calendar contains a travel-sized shower oil which is my most loved L’Occitane product; it’s seriously divine and luckily for me you can get refill packs which offer better value than individual bottles so I treat myself at Christmas and it tends to last.
You also get an Almond shampoo and a conditioner.

Having travelled a bit this month with hand luggage only, these small 50ml products (the website says they are 35ml, but as you can see from the picture above they were definitely bigger than that) were absolutely perfect to take away with me, and it’s likely that when they’re used up I’ll refill them to take them on future adventures.
They aren’t the only hair care products in the calendar; there are a smaller 35ml repairing shampoo and conditioner too.

The L’Occitane Beauty Advent Calendar also has a lovely verbena shower gel and body lotion duo which contain 30ml each, and a 10ml cooling hand gel, a small soap and a35ml body milk and 35ml body lotion with an amazing citrus verbena scent.
I have the Mint Verbena Eau de Toilette at home already and it is just a refreshing scent, I can’t wait to use these products.

There are quite a lot of individual hand creams contained in the L’Occitane Advent Calendar.
Although I don’t use handcream a lot, they are fab to keep in your handbag if you tend to wash your hands a lot when you’re out and about, to stop them from getting dry.
Personally I would have preferred face cream instead (there were 3 x 5ml contained including Immortelle Precious Cream) as on Christmas Eve you receive a full-sized 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream, which will probably last me for the year!

Last but not least, there is Immortelle Overnight Reset Serum. It is only 5ml so won’t last for long but it’s an amazing product and leaves your skin feeling soft and dewy. I absolutely love it, having been gifted some in the past it is such a decadent product, but I can’t quite afford the £70 price tag on the larger 50ml bottle.

So – is it worth the money? Should I buy it?
Honestly, I love L’Occitane products and have done for years so as a slight addict I might be biased… However, I think the L’Occitane Christmas Classic Beauty Advent Calendar 2021 is a real luxury with some gorgeous products, and costing just over half the price of the individual products, it is something I would definitely buy myself as a treat.

There are one or two I might not use – mainly handcream – but I’m more than happy to pass these on to friends and family. The miniatures will all definitely get used up especially if I can travel a bit more.
Comparing it to the products in the luxury advent calendar, I would find it very hard to choose between them especially as this one offers such good value with almost £100 of products for £55.
Fancy treating yourself or a loved one? The L’Occitane Classic Beauty Advent Calendar can be purchased from L’Occitane stores and from their webshop.
