Like I say every morning when I wake up: Isn’t it cold?!
I know it happens every year but man, I was not ready for it. I wasn’t born to be chilly.
Autumn and winter isn’t all bad though. I much prefer fashion in the cooler months; I’m a sucker for woolly tights and a nice pair of boots to the point that there is barely any shoe storage left.
I’m supposed to be on a one in-one out system for pairs of boots but I could resist buying some from Amsterdam and my new Hush Puppies boots are just gorgeous.
Packed away in storage are the short dresses, the skirts and the t-shirts and in are the chunky knits, roll neck tops and jumper dresses.
Here are some of the winter items I got from femmeluxe.co.uk this month
Jumper dresses
I love this jumper dress which I got from Femme Luxe back in July, so I thought I’d see if I could find another one to alternate.
This v-necked ribbed jumper dress (‘Ivy’) is available in cream, red, grey, white and black. Unfortunately they only had it in my size in the cream – I did try the red in a size bigger (14-16, which is the XXL size) as some of their clothes can come up small from experience, but it was massive; definitely don’t oversize on this item.
The cream version which I got in an XL (12-14) fit really well and actually the colour didn’t wash me out like I thought it might. It’s a bit low cut but can be pulled up and adjusted.
Team with black tights and boots, and a chunky necklace or scarf if you’re going outside!
Oversize chunky knits
I loved this blue oversized jumper, which was perfect for the chilly Prague weather.
In fact I liked it so much, I got it in green too!
When they say oversize, they mean it. You can happily size down (this was a M, 8-10).
Things to note: The colour on the website doesn’t match the colour you get. It shows as green, but this is definitely blue!
Unfortunately as you can see, it has started to come apart on the sleeve already so I’ll have to sew that up, which is a bit disappointing as it has only been through the wash once and not tumble dried. The jumper currently costs £17.99.
The lime green version is more accurately portrayed on the website although thankfully it isn’t as bright; it definitely has hints of mustard in it as well as lime green.

Hoodies
The ultimate in home comfies for the winter, this thin drawstring hoodie with front pocket is more of a dress than a top as it comes down to mid-thigh. Have it as another layer on top of whatever else you’re wearing to keep you that little bit warmer!
You could wear it with striking tights (I like pink ones myself!) and boots, or skinny jeans. And boots. Did I mention boots? All the boots.

Roll necks
My neck gets so chilly in the winter than sometimes I don’t take my scarf off all day. Roll necks are my absolute saviour and a staple once the leaves start to fall.
This white ruched, roll-neck bodysuit is the perfect item of clothing to wear under a pinafore or with jeans, to keep you warm and stylish.
