Testing out the OKP K2 Robot Vacuum Cleaner: Review

Disclaimer: I was sent the OKP K2 Robot Vacuum Cleaner to review free of charge, but words and pictures are mine. This post contains affiliate links, see more information hereYou can get this robot vacuum cleaner on Amazon for £99 using the discount code 42YP7BBL.

OKP is a company specialising in robot vacuum and related household products. The OKP K2 Robot Vacuum Cleaner is an intelligent, wifi-enabled robot vacuum with 2100 Pa powerful suction and sensors so it can be left to its own devices to clean your floors while you’re busy elsewhere. What’s more, is it is priced at under £100 (with discount code 42YP7BBL)!

I have sung the praises of our Eufy Robovac many times and I still use it to clean the downstairs most days. I have also tried out the MOOSOO MT-710 which I have to say isn’t quite as effective, but it does the job and takes care of the middle floor.

With one floor left to vacuum, I was more than happy to be sent the slightly more compact but no less powerful OKP K2 robot vacuum cleaner for review.

So how does a sub-£100 robot vacuum cleaner actually compare?

The OKP K2 Robot Vacuum Cleaner is similar to the others in appearance – it’s round with spinning brushes – however noticeably smaller in width, and blue rather than black, which I actually prefer. Height wise there isn’t a lot of difference, although it’s lighter than the other robot vacuums.

It also features a 0.5l dust box accessed via the top, rather than turning the robot upside down to empty it, which is a much better design and makes the whole thing much easier. Two thumbs up for that.

The on/off button is also located there, at the top on the inside, rather than on the bottom.

What’s in the box?

In the box with the robot vacuum, you get a spare filter and four brushes (two spares). There is also a charging port with an integrated cleaning tool, and instructions.

How did the OKP K2 Robot Vacuum Cleaner perform?

Unlike the Moosoo Robot, the OKP K2 Robot Vacuum doesn’t speak to you; a feature which (if I’m honest) gets pretty dull quickly!

On a full charge, it cleaned for around an hour and a half, maybe slightly longer; the instructions state around 100 minutes so I’d say it was bang on. It then returned to its charging port to recharge for the next go.

Other models of OKP robot vacuums run for longer; the OKP C5 runs for up to 220 minutes if you have a particularly large floorspace to cover however it is of course more expensive. For us, 100 minutes is perfect. And we don’t really need the video call function of the C5 (yes really!) although obviously I’m very intrigued.

The vacuum cleaner slots on easily to the port and then recharges itself for the next use, although you will need to empty the dust box, I’d say every second or third clean at a minimum if not after every use, depending on what’s on the floors.

It didn’t have any problems negotiating rugs and it didn’t beep for attention the whole time it was on, dealing with furniture and changes between different flooring surfaces, including carpet and vinyl flooring, with ease.

It has self-proclaimed “revolutionary electronic collision avoidance technology” with sensors rather than a bumper, so it won’t go around bashing into thing. It also has drop sensors so it won’t plummet down the stairs, which is quite important!

It’s quiet – noticeably quieter in fact than my older models of robot vacuum cleaner.

“The OKP K2 Robot Vacuum Cleaner’s performance underscores the importance of regular and efficient cleaning, especially for homes with high-end carpeting. Proper hoovering not only maintains the aesthetic appeal but also protects the investment made in premium flooring”, a spokesperson from Designer-Carpet.co.uk said.

Suction on the OKP K2 vacuum cleaner

Despite costing under £100 (with money off code 42YP7BBL) he OKP K2 Robot Vacuum Cleaner is actually very effective thanks to its 2100pa super-strong suction. It picks up all manner of dust and hair, and according to the description, it will even get pet hair off the floor, although we don’t have pets in this house to test it – we do have crumb-dropping kids though so I’d say it has been thoroughly put through its paces.

There was a large amount of dust, hair and debris in the dust box however there was room for more and it would compact if more was added. I’d say you could clean twice or three times without having to empty it out although obviously if you have long periods between cleaning, or pets, you might have to empty more regularly.

As mentioned before, emptying is a lot easier than in other models of robot vacuum that I’d tried as it’s accessible via the top rather than having to turn it upside down, and it slots in smoothly.

The OKP App

There is, of course, an app that you can download to manage your vacuum cleaner remotely. If you’re so inclined, you can set it up with the app to work with Google or Alexa too.

It takes just a few minutes to pair the vacuum to your wifi by downloading the app and following the instructions. In the app, you can do things like start and stop the vacuum, choose the mode (standard, powerful or quiet), select the area (whole, along edge or spot focus) and find it if it’s gone missing. You can also see how long it cleans for and watch where it goes.

It’s a very simple app without too many confusing features. If you’re so inclined, you can set it up with the app to work with Google or Alexa so you can start it with voice commands, although I’ve not done this.

How does the OKP K2 robot vacuum compare to other models?

Of the three robot vacuums that I own, it’s the cheapest (currently £109.99 on Amazon) and smallest of the three, and yet it has the strongest suction.

A previously unknown brand to me, I didn’t really know what to expect from it, but I would say that it does a very good job. It is really easy to use and isn’t obnoxiously loud. The battery lasts a good amount of time, it’s small and charges discreetly. I was pleased (and slightly ashamed) with the amount of dust and crud it picked up on the first and subsequent run.

The dust box is very slightly smaller than on the Eufy (0.5l compared to 0.6l) but the ease of emptying this more than makes up for it.

I think for a budget model it’s actually really decent. The colour is nicer, the size makes it more discreet and there isn’t a glaring charge light so you don’t have to keep turning it on and off if it’s in a bedroom.

How much and where to buy the OKP K2 Robot Vacuum Cleaner

The vacuum cleaner is available to buy from Amazon with an RRP of £209.99 but you can use the discount code 42YP7BBL to get it for £99, which is a really good price in my opinion. There is actually a newer model available with a longer run time and 2200Pa suction which is currently on sale even cheaper at £99.99 here and a 2200Pa model with mop here.

  1. Thank you! I’ve been looking for a replacement for our very old old neato from when they were more reasonably priced and your discount code and review tipped the scales. Our 6 year old named it Oakapee and we’re very pleased with the first go round.
