This is a collaborative post: The problems that made 2020 such a difficult year have not yet fully disappeared, but hope is on the horizon. And in any case, perhaps now’s the time that we consider improving our lives in spite of the coronavirus pandemic. It might be gone in a few months, or there could be lockdowns for years to come. Instead of being beholden to the virus, we should work on improving ourselves in any way we can. Many of us were blown off course in the past year, but now’s the time to get back on track. Here are some of the best changes that you can make during the forthcoming 2021.
Expand Your Mind
One of the more difficult aspects of 2020 was that our worlds became extremely small. Whereas we’d normally travel or simply be out and about on the town, the past twelve months have seen many of us spending a lot of time just going through the motions, or just staring at the wall. We can’t rely on external stimuli to push us forward anymore; we have to make it happen. In the coming weeks and months, look at expanding your mind and thinking bigger — you’ll find that it’ll help to keep you inspired and motivated, even if you can’t leave home.
Set Some Goals
Let’s pour some out for all the plans that had to be scrapped over the past twelve months. The disappointment of cancelling holidays and other fun adventures means that many of us are reluctant to make plans because we know that we’re setting ourselves for more disappointment. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t set goals. Sure, your goal of travelling the world probably won’t come true. But your goal of learning a new language, or kick starting a new career? They are very much achievable.
Give Up Vices
It’s only when we give up vices do we realise just how much of a grip they had on us. Most of us start small when it comes to alcohol or tobacco, but as our tolerance grows, so does our intake — and that can have big (and negative) impacts on our overall health. Is this year that you give them up for good? There are plenty of delicious non-alcoholic drinks to overcome alcohol. For smoking, it’s best to look at vapes; Time2Vape recently said: ‘explore our biggest sale at Time2Vape and find the best offers for you,’ so you can get started with ease. Once you’ve given up your vices, it won’t be long before you begin to feel the benefits of having done so.
Be Kind To Others (And Yourself)
Many of us have become pretty jaded in recent times. Tension around society is pretty high! If you want to make the biggest difference to yourself and the world, then practice being kind to others. You never know where it’ll lead. And remember that being kind to people also means being kind to yourself — we’re all going through tough times at the minute!
