Stay protected with Silver Life: Comfortable, effective face masks

If you’d have said two years ago that COVID would still be very much around now, I am not sure I would have believed you – or wanted to. But it seems that it is here to stay, and in the words of our government we all need to learn to live with it. Face masks – whether you love them, hate them, or don’t believe in science – are an important part of that.

I have no problem with facemasks; they are a small price to pay to help protect other people and I’ll happily wear them whenever it’s necessary.

They have a lot of pros, actually. You don’t need to apply lippy, and you can happily avoid people that you vaguely know, especially with a hat and a pair of sunglasses. Oh, and you’re less likely to spread and catch COVID, of course, which is also useful.

The only bit that I don’t like about them is when they’re uncomfortable; I have bought several that look funky but when you put them on it feels like your ears are going to fall off after a while. If you’re catching a flight or getting a train, going to see a show in London or having your hair cut, you could be wearing your mask for many hours in a row and an uncomfortable mask, or one that isn’t breathable, is horrible.

Having trialled SP Science’s Silver Life face masks for while now, I can say that they are fantastic from a comfort perspective. They’re completely adjustable over the ears and really breathable with a wire over the nose so you can get the fit just right.

They are without a doubt the best face masks I’ve tried and they’re great if you have to wear them for some time. My partner has one too – and (no offence to him) he has a much bigger face than me and he has said they same; they’re really good quality, and comfortable.

Silver Life face masks: The sciencey bit

Obviously comfort is one thing, but from an actually-stopping-COVID-particles point of view, Silver Life face masks are also great. Silver Life face masks are fully compliant with the WHO recommendations around face coverings and the fabric is silver-based which is anti-microbial, and proven to destroy bacteria and viruses.

They claim to provide ‘ultimate, scientifically proven sustainable protection’ and filters both incoming and outgoing air particulates down to 3 microns – which basically means that it’s very effective (the WHO suggest 10 microns and a lot of fashion masks won’t even meet this standard) – and even works when wet.

The polyester used in the masks is made from recycled material, so they’re much better for the environment than single use, disposable plastic masks; millions are being thrown away every day in this country alone. Conversely, you can wash Silver Life face masks up to 100 times without reducing their effectiveness.

They cost £24.49 for a two pack; currently they are only available in black (a bit boring, if practical) with other colours available soon.

Buy them from Amazon.
