With schools closed, and people urged to stay inside their homes, we were so pleased to take a delivery of new range of Schleich dinosaurs; a huge roaring Tyrannosaurus Rex, fearsome Spinosaurus and a Therizinosaurus with long, vicious claws.
We popped to our local woods, staying far away from other people, do do a little dinosaur photoshoot!
Schleich have been making realistic, durable hand painted animal figures for children since 1935.
As well as all the classic zoo and farm animals, Schleich make a whole range of Marvel figures, as well as bayala fairies and unicorns and Eldrador mythical creatures.
They’re well made figures which can be played with in so many ways. we have some Schleich dinosaurs already, but who can really say they have enough dinosaurs?
Meet our newest additions:
Tyrannosaurus Rex
The Tyrannosaurus Rex is arguably the most famous meat-eating dino.
At 40 feet long and with teeth measuring up to 15cm each, he was a ferocious predator and this figure, which is around 28cm from nose to tail and around 13cm tall, has a movable jaw that can show his ferocious roar.
He has big clawed feet which mean he can stand easily on the floor, and small little front claws (which don’t move) for playing the piano but not clapping his hands.
The Schleich T-Rex is a beautifully crafted toy; the plastic is moulded with remarkable attention to detail; he feels lumpy and scaly like a dinosaur (probably) should (I haven’t actually touched a real one). This Schleich T-rex is a light green and has spotty detailing on his knees and neck.
He has an RRP of £16.
Therizinosaurus
This dino looked absolutely terrifying and had the huge claws measuring around a metre long.
Not a great deal is known about the Therizinosaurus because we have only found a a few bones, including its gigantic hand claws.
However, despite looking like a viscous meat eater, it is thought that the Therizinosaurus may actually have been a herbivore, using the claws for collecting and eating vegetation.
The Schleich Therizinosaurus is around 21cm tall and has a movable jaw and articulated arms.
He has an RRP of £16.
Spinosaurus
The Spinosaurus is the big daddy of the dinosaur world; bigger, even than the Giganotosaurus! At 50ft long, you wouldn’t want to mess with this carnivorous beast!
Looking a bit like a crocodile, the Spinosaurus may have lived on land and in the water.
An ugly fellow, the Shleich Spinosaurus is over 30cm long from nose to tail. His jaw is articulated so he can chomp on any smaller dinos who are unfortunate enough to get in his way.
