I’ve got a scary less-than-two-months before I turn 40 and blinking heck, I’m feeling (and looking) it. Since the much anticipated red light LED mask was consigned to the drawer as I wasn’t seeing any results worthy of spending my time wearing it, and I’ve written off the idea of another microneedling ‘vampire’ facial as too expensive, I have been on the look out for something else to help me banish the lines and wrinkles which are coming thick and fast.
Depology is a brand which uses Korean skincare science.
If you’re in the know, Korean skincare is thought to be the best out there. Often referred to as K-beauty, it’s a comprehensive approach to skincare that emphasises a multi-step routine and a focus on achieving healthy, radiant skin. It has gained significant popularity around the world due to its innovative products, emphasis on self-care, and the “glass skin” trend, which aims to achieve a smooth, clear, and luminous complexion.
Sounds good, right?
I was sent two of their newest products: Depology Peptide Complex 10% Serum formulated with Argireline™ peptide and Depology Matrixyl® 3000 Collagen Boosting Serum to try out.
Both serums come in a glass bottle with pipette, allowing you to squeeze out two-three drops, which is enough to smooth onto your face using your hands.
Both liquids are entirely translucent. They are not greasy or sticky, but are light and absorbed quickly into the skin. Although you can use them separately, they can be used together (first the Argireline™, allow to settle and then the Matrixyl®) to boost collagen in the face and neck area, and to halt signs of aging such as wrinkles and fine lines. This is known as Peptide pairing.

About Depology Peptide Complex 10% Serum formulated with Argireline™ peptide (30ml)
What is it for? The Depology Argireline™ peptide Serum has been formulated to tackle fine lines and wrinkles. Paired with Depology Matrixyl® 3000, it is particularly good at tackling areas where expressive wrinkles occur, such as between the eyes, and provides moisturisation. It is recommended for any skin type but particularly aging skin, such as mine, to help prevent further signs of aging. Clinical testing suggests that you can expect to see a 7.22% reduction in the depth of wrinkles within 28 days.
How do you use it? Cleanse and tone the skin before adding a few drops of the Peptide Complex Anti-Wrinkle Serum to your face, applying more generously to areas like around the eyes and forehead where wrinkles form. Once it has been absorbed, you can combine with Matrixyl® 3000 Serum and followed with moisturiser/sunscreen.

About Depology Matrixyl® 3000 Collagen Boosting Serum (30ml)
What is it for? Depology’s Matrixyl® 3000 Serum is a solution for boosting collagen which makes your skin plump and targets wrinkles and hydration. It is recommended that you use Matrixyl® 3000 Serum twice daily. It is suitable for any skin type and is especially good for dehydrated, aging skin, and treatment of the neck and décolleté area.
Scientific testing by well known doctors suggests that you can expect to see a 5.25% reduction in wrinkles in 28 days and a 46.31% improvement in hydration.
OK so you’re not going to wake up the next day looking ten years younger, but you can expect to see an improvement with regular sustained use. If you want to see a bit more about this, see this Instagram video.
How do you use it? Cleanse and tone the skin, add a few drops of Matrixyl® 3000 Collagen Boosting Serum to your palm and massage gently on to your face including around the eyes and forehead where wrinkles are more likely to occur, and wait for it to be absorbed into the skin. You can then apply patches/moisturiser.

My results using Depology Matrixyl® 3000 and Peptide Complex 10% anti wrinkle serums
Although the scientific testing results shared above lead me to expect some change over the month with consistent use, at the point of writing, I have not been using the Depology Matrixyl® 3000 and Peptide Complex 10% anti wrinkle serums long enough to see or expect to see any results. Additionally, I have experienced some sun damage to my face recently which means it wouldn’t be fair to judge yet.
I do note happily that applying them makes my skin feel softer, dewy and hydrated which helps with my sunburn! They do not make my skin feel tight or dehydrated, and they don’t sting or irritate my sensitive skin in any way.
Here is the ‘before’ photo, and I will update this post when I have been using the serums in combination for at least 28 days to report any changes or improvements in my skin, fine lines and wrinkles.
