What I’ll do when I win the lottery this weekend

With the exception of the 2p machines at Butlin’s I don’t usually gamble, but this week’s Euromillions draw is a rollover and could land you £144 million. ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY FOUR MILLION POUNDS.

I have, naturally, bought a ticket (four, actually – although they’ve gone up to £2.50 now!) and instantly started fantasising about what I would spend my winnings on.

Here is what I’ll buy if I win the lottery.

I mean when, when I win.

1. A massive house

If lockdown has taught me anything, it’s that living on top of each other is no fun at all, so a house with several wings to escape to and extensive grounds to hide in if needed sounds like a ruddy marvellous idea.

I quite like the look of this one; and there would still be £114 million left to play with, although I’d have to look into how much the swimming pool costs to maintain…

Then I would buy houses or pay off the mortgages for my family and close friends so they could spend less time working and more time chilling out with me in my huge mansion, which would totally have a swimming pool, a cinema, a gym and enough bedrooms for a whole party of guests to stay in.

I’d probably get a few spare houses dotted around the globe so I could nip off as and when the mood took me too.

2. A cleaner

Or maybe even a whole team of cleaners, to clean the aforementioned massive house(s) and polish the chandeliers and whatnot.

Kids are messy, being honest I’m not really much better, and there is only so much vacuuming you can do in a day when you have to spend a lot of money eating lobsters and drinking champagne.

3. A chef

Someone with £144 million really shouldn’t be eating oven pizza every night because they’re too lazy too cook and forgot to go to Aldi.

A Michelin star chef sounds like a worthy investment. And it would be fun to see how they like it when the kids turn their nose up at their beautifully crafted delicacies and demand turkey dinosaurs instead.

4. A great big wine cellar

I truly believe that life is too short to drink bad wine (or chardonnay) and with £144 million to blow through there is absolutely no excuse not to drink the best of the best.

5. A personal trainer

I would definitely be in need of someone to come and drag my lazy bum out of bed so that I don’t end up the size of my massive house due to excessive lobster and wine consumption.

…And maybe someone just to come and take the Maltesers out of my hands when I know in my heart I’ve had enough but I just can’t stop shovelling them in my gob.

6. Luxury pampering

My own spa complete with steam room and jacuzzi, and regular massage treatments and facials wouldn’t go a miss because I imagine it’s pretty stressful being a multi-millionaire.

7. A walk-in wardrobe full of fantastic dresses

My current wardrobe is bursting at the seams to the point that I can’t actually see what I’ve got in there; I like to tell myself it is because it’s a small wardrobe rather than I own too many dresses.

As a millionaire I’d get a personal shopper/stylist, and dedicate a whole room of the house to become a dressing room, so I could see all my clothes and look blinking fabulous every day. I might even get my hair done more than twice a year…

8. Lots of holidays

2020 has been absolutely rubbish, and being placed in tier 3 restrictions just before Christmas isn’t the news I wanted to hear. When I win the Euromillions rollover on Friday, I’ll be booking myself a LOT of holidays, even if I have to charter a private jet to do it.

What would you do if you won the lottery?

This is a collaborative post.
