This is a collaborative post: Even though we may not have the hottest climate, there’s one thing that the UK is not short of, and that is beautiful beaches. There are over 800 beaches in the UK alone. Almost 80 of these beaches have received the coveted Blue Flag, which means that they are some of the highest quality and cleanest beaches in the world. We really are spoiled for choice when it comes to a UK beach holiday.
While relaxing on a beach in the sun is the ultimate way to relax, a beach holiday is a great idea at almost any time of year. Here are a few reasons why.
The sea air is good for you – in any climate, breathing in the sea air improves your lung capacity and circulation. This is due to the salt content and the fact that beaches are usually out of the way of pollution and heavy traffic fumes. The air is cleaner so go ahead and take a deep breath.
It’s more relaxing – research has shown that people enjoying beach holidays are more relaxed than those visiting a city and even the countryside. Reducing the stresses of everyday life is one of the best parts of a holiday.
It’s healthier – walking along the beach and swimming in the sea are both great ways of getting some fun activity into your holiday. In a survey by hoo, they asked holidaymakers if they preferred to swim in the sea or the ocean. Have a look at this infographic to see what came out on top.
