One of the biggest concerns with faux lawns is that it might lower the biodiversity in your garden – basically, that not having natural grass will lead to fewer animals and bugs that make your garden grow better. If you invest enough in the actual plants and flowers around a garden, however, this potential downside is easily sorted out.
It’s also worth remembering that it can be much better for the overall appearance of your garden. When you’ve got pets or kids, regular lawns can get scuffed and marked. If you’re prone to hosting, which many of us can’t wait to get back to doing soon, then this can become a bit of a nightmare. Of course, when you invest in high quality, but relatively cheap faux grass, this problem becomes basically non-existent. All you really need is to give it a good brush now and again, and the lawn looks immaculate.
Are pets safe on faux grass?
For many of you, the chief concern with artificial lawns is if pets are safe on it. For quality manufactured grass, this is not really a problem. These lawns can be surprisingly cheap too, and require minimal cleaning, even with pets that love to go to the toilet wherever they can. In fact, one of the benefits of these lawns is how they drain – dog wee will just drain off like rainwater (luckily!).

All told, while fake grass does have a couple of downsides compared to the real deal, it can be fantastic for your lawn, perhaps even saving you some money along the way.
