With under three weeks until pubs and restaurants are able to reopen, many of us can’t wait to kickstart our social lives and go out to see friends. I for one can’t wait to get dressed up and go out for a nice meal, and perhaps some fancy cocktails.

I was gifted some new outfits from the Femme Luxe website and this is what I chose.
For the night before: Bodycon dresses
I love a well-fitting dress for a night out and you’ll rarely find me underdressed for any occassion. The Femme Luxe site has loads of bodycon style dresses, so I chose two in different styles and colours to see which I preferred. I bought everything in my usual size (12) although they’ve available in a size 6 to a size 14.
This Bardot cowl-necked ruched bodycon dress is available in loads of different colours, including black and white, wine, camel and even neon! I chose emerald as I love to wear green and think it stands out compared to the usual black dress!
With a figure hugging layer underneath, and ruched all the way up the the back it gives you a more svelte figure and the straps hang over your arms to add interest.
The website suggests it’s a midi dress; it is almost long enough on me to be a maxi dress but that could just be my short legs. The cowl neck was a bit large and I might be tempted to alter this before wearing, and I will probably remove the straps as I prefer it without. So for me, not an immediate hit, but the fit and colour were nice and I reckon it can be improved easily.
Wear this bodycon dress for a fancy dinner out, teamed with strappy sandals in gold or silver, and team with a chunky necklace in the same colour. This dress is currently on sale for £18.99. Sizing is as expected ie I ordered my usual size and it fit.
The second dress was this one-shoulder bodycon midi dress in black.
One shoulder dresses have been in and out of fashion more times than I can count over the past 20 years but they always come back around, because they give a flattering silhouette especially for curvier figures.
This dress is knee length, it’s ruched to hide lumps and bumps, and has an attached belt which can be done up at the front or back. It’s made from the same, figure hugging material.
It’s a very classic, staple dress might be tempted to alter the sleeve to make it shorter.
Wear to a cocktail bar teamed with bright heels and long shoulder-length earrings. This dress is currently on sale for £18.99. Sizing is as expected ie I ordered my usual size and it fit.
For the morning after: Loungewear sets
And finally, for lounging, wine coloured loungewear from their selection of co-ord sets. Loungewear isn’t really my style to wear outside of the house but it if you’re not going far (and let’s face it, that’s been everyone this year!) then they’re great to wear in the house as an alternative to pyjamas.
The Femme Luxe site is known for its large range of cheap loungewear. This co-ord set is stretchy and snuggly but not too thick, and they are the perfect next-day wear for chilling out on the sofa especially if you’ve overdone it the night before.
Wear with pumps or trainers, or with Birkenstock sandals for an effortless, laid-back look. This wine coloured ‘Maria’ loungewear tracksuit set is currently on sale for £16.99. Sizing is as expected; I ordered a 12/14 (L/XL) and this fit fine.
