If your children love to bake, here is a recipe for cheese biscuits that even small children will love to make – and they taste great too.
Super easy cheesy biscuit recipe
These cheesy biscuits are so easy to make that you can have them on the table in under 20 minutes.

To make really easy cheesy biscuits you will need the following ingredients:
Flour
We used self raising flour for this batch, but have also used organic plain white flour and they’ve come out OK.
Cheese
We used vintage cheddar but any hard cheese will work just fine. The stronger the cheese, the stronger and saltier the taste.

Butter/margarine/spread
We used reduced fat spread from Lidls, the really cheap stuff.
Optional extra: Spoonful of mustard
100g of each gives you a nice amount of biscuits (about 20 small cheesy biscuits) but as long as you use equal parts of the three main ingredients then you can’t really go far wrong. Be warned though, if you make them, you’ll eat them. All.
How to make really easy cheesy biscuits
Line a baking sheet with greaseproof paper (we ran out and used foil. It’s OK as long as you don’t mind picking off bits of foil I guess).
Preheat the oven to about 200 degrees.
Weigh out the right amount of cheese.
Weigh the flour and butter in a mixing bowl, and then grate the cheese in.
If you want to, add a small spoonful of mustard.

Mix together with a spoon until the butter softens and it forms a dough.
Tear off small chunks and roll them into balls, and then squish them flat onto a baking sheet or enamelled cast iron pan. If the cheesy biscuit dough is a bit lumpy, don’t worry too much; call them ‘Rustic cheesy biscuits’. They’ll taste the same.

Place in the oven for around 10 minutes (depending on thickness it might even be less) until they’re golden brown. Don’t overcook or they’ll go crumbly!
Let them cool for a few minutes and then eat them all in one sitting!

They’re lovely eaten warm, but really good for lunchboxes too!
