Creative Ways to Preserve your Travel Memories

This is a collaborative post: Do you want to bring your travel memories to life? If so then there are numerous things you can do to try and do this. Take a look below to find out more.

Postcards

Along with taking photos, you should also buy postcards. You can find them just about anywhere you go, and they are very inexpensive too. A postcard is a very good visual reminder of all of the places that you have been and they are a fantastic way for you to capture memories while on the go. You can send them to your friends and your family while you are away or you can save them up for when you get home so you can have a bit of a travel scrapbook made. Don’t forget to send yourself one while you are away as this will give you something to look forward to when you get home.

Keep a Journal

Writing down your experiences or any stories you have is a fantastic way for you to keep your memories alive. They are the best way for you to reminisce about your adventures and they also make great conversation at the dinner table when you are hosting guests. Travel journals are also fantastic gifts for children and grandchildren. You can pass them down and they can see how much things have changed over the years.

Make a Memory Box

A memory box of almost any shape is a great way for you to treasure your memories. Within your memory box, you can put in postcards or cutouts from the different counties you have visited.  You can also add pictures or anecdotes. A lot of people like to write down holiday phrases so that they can remember the things that they have experienced on the go.

Buy a Souvenir

A simple way for you to look back on your travels would be for you to pick up a souvenir so you can remember the places you have been. You can even buy a recipe book from every country if you want. Over time, you will build up a fantastic collection of trinkets. If you want to store your trinkets then consider investing in a display case so you can keep everything nice and organized. If you can do this then you will soon find that it is easier than ever for you to keep things nice and preserved as the years go by.

Create a Photobook

Why not make your travel memories on a map? It’s easy for you to make a travel pin map so you can pinpoint all of the places you have been. You can also create a photo book to reflect the order of your travels. You can also buy a scratch map if you want to document the places in the world you have visited. The great thing about doing this is that it allows you to see which parts of the world you are yet to discover, so be mindful of that if you can.

Put Together a List of Songs

Another idea would be for you to put together a list of songs that you have listened to while on the go. Make notes of the music that you have heard or the songs that have played during iconic moments. Whether it’s the song that was on the bar jukebox when you struck up a conversation with a seasoned traveler or the song that was playing in the jeep when you went on your safari, putting a playlist together is a fantastic way for you to remember those little moments. If you want you can even put it on a mixtape if you want, so you can take it with you wherever you go.

Photo Painting

Turn your photographs into a work of art. This is the best way for you to create a masterpiece. You can take some time out of the day to bring your memories to life. Use watercolors, acrylic paint and even coloured pencils if you want. You don’t even have to start from scratch if you don’t want to either. In fact, it’s very easy for you to use a photo, print it out and then paint over it.

Buy Something

You don’t have to bring something back from the country you have visited. In fact, it is more than possible to purchase something when you get home to simply mark the time you have spent away. Some of the things that you can look into include an engraved compass with wooden box, or an embossed passport holder. Things like this can trigger a range of memories as they signify your travel experience as a whole, which is great, to say the least.

Save Ticket Stubs

Another way for you to remember the places you have visited would be for you to save the ticket stubs of all the places you have visited. By doing this, you can then make sure that you remember all the places you have been and this is great. You can even put them in your photo book if you want. You can put them next to a photo of each place, or you can even take a photo of your passport stamp and put that in too. This is a fantastic way for you to really cherish your memories and it is also a great way for you to keep your memories alive.

Take a Plane Photo

Another thing you can do is take a photo from the plane window. Every time you are due to touch down, make sure that you take a snap. This will help you to add a photo reference to your memories and you may even find that you can make out the city by just looking at the lights. Little things like this can help you to treasure those memories, so make sure you keep that in mind and that you use it in combination with other things to try and make the most out of your memories.
