Christmas is over and it’s time to face the reality of January; Winter isn’t even half way through and we don’t even have twinkly lights and Cheeselets to make us feel better about the dark and dismal days. Treating yourself to a few new bits for your wardrobe to see you through to spring? Don’t mind if I do.

Yours Clothing: Size 14 Winter Staples
Firstly, the thing that everyone asks: Yes, Yours Clothing is a plus size clothing retailer. However, while I wouldn’t categorise myself as plus size, wearing a size 12-14, they stock many of their clothes from a size 14 and go right up up to a size 40 which is wonderfully inclusive. All the clothes I get from Yours Clothing are a size 14, but they’re the same in larger sizes.
Here are my picks.
A lovely green jumper dress
There is nothing better than a massive snuggly jumper to make January feel a little bit less rubbish. The YOURS LUXURY Curve Green Dipped Hem Jumper has split sides and a dipped hemline, meaning it’s longer at the back and covers your bum properly. I’m a very average 5 foot 6 inches and it is certainly big enough for me.

Although it’s not sold as a dress, I found that it was long enough to be worn with leggings, although it would also look good with skinny jeans/jeggings or leather-look leggings.
It’s also available in black but I much prefer it in green which is my favourite colour for clothing, as you might have guessed.

This green jumper costs £29.99, and is available up to a size 28.
Knee high black leather boots
Did you know that Yours Clothing sell footwear? Well, you do now. I had my eye on a new pair of low-heeled, comfy boots to pair with my baggy jumper dress for the school run.
Yours sell shoes and boots for people who have wider feet. These boots are great if you struggle getting boots to fit in other high street shops; I’ve always had wider calves (running doesn’t help!) and knee high boots are often a challenge.

These Black Elasticated Knee High Leather Boots – which cost £89.99 – have loads of space in them; you can get them in an E or an EEE fitting if you have wide feet and find it hard to get boots to fit from the high street.

They’re actually made of leather not plastic, and have a good, solid sole to them, so will hopefully last a lot longer than fashion boots from the supermarket.
I love the height; they look great with jeans and I know they will get loads of use through the winter and into spring, not only because I’ve chucked my old pair out finally…
A slouchy dress
This Curve Khaki Green Ribbed Midaxi Dress with long sleeves and a button-down top is a great casual dress for staying warm and comfortable – perfect for when the idea of jeans just isn’t floating your boat. Made from ribbed jersey fabric, you can stick on some thick tights underneath and add a cardigan to stay warm, and wear with ankle boots or trainers.

It’s quite loose around the waist which makes it really comfortable, but if you want to dress it up you can do it with a cinching waist belt for a more flattering silhouette. It washes up really well, and tumble dries without shrinkage or creases (I wash all my clothes before I photograph them, to check they don’t go bobbly or fall apart in the washing machine).
I love it and it’ll be worn right into spring with a leather jacket over the top.

This dress is also available in wine red and black, up to a size 32, and costs £29.99.
What is Yours Clothing like if you’re a size 14?
As a plus size retailer stocking clothes up to a size 40, Yours Clothing might not be the obvious first choice if you happen to be at the smaller end of their range, but as a lot of their clothing starts at a 14 (some at a size 16) it is worth checking out Yours Clothing. The clothes don’t have that ‘tenty’ plus size look; there is loads of choice and they are really not badly priced either. I’m a massive fan of their clothes and I’m always happy to work with them to promote their new ranges.
