I’m unsure what it is about Cats vs Pickles toys, but the kids think they’re fabulous.
If you’re unaware of the whole YouTube trend, then let me explain… Someone discovered that cats are really not OK with cucumbers, and videos of scaredy cats jumping out of their skin when confronted by the dastardly vegetables became a huge viral sensation. Go on, you can see what I’m on about here (and if you have a cat, why not give it a go at home…).
Shortly afterwards came Cats vs Pickles toys; brightly coloured fun plush collectibles with a catchy TV advert tune. The cats are scared of pickles, but pickles just want love…
Now Cats vs Pickles have several ranges of plush squishy toys including blind bagged ‘beans’ cats and pickles which are 4 inch/10cm and come in hundreds of different colours and patterns, 6 inch ‘chonks’, larger ‘jumbos’ and much bigger squashy 20-inch ‘Hugger’ cats and pickles toys.
The newest in the range are the Cats vs Pickles reversible plushies.

Some people like my daughter prefer the cute little cats, and others like my son prefer the naughty pickles. Now there is no need to decide whether you’re team Cat or team Pickle, because you get both characters in one toy! Simply turn it inside out to reveal each cat’s pickley nemesis.
We took a trip to Smyths Toys where you can pick up a plush reversible Cats vs Pickles toy for £11.99. We also bought some 10cm squishy toys as the kids had some Christmas money left over and they were on special offer – buy two get one free.
While in store we picked up football cat Kicks, who turns into Foul Baldrick when you turn him inside out! We also got a Garth/Leaf Pickleson viking Cats vs Pickles reversible toy – and there are others to collect! Sprinkles/Frosted Flo are the sweetest characters, Psychadeli-Cat/Groovy Gil are 1960s-tastic, Roboticat/Mech Pickle are a pair of cool robots and Touchdown/Punt is one for the American football fans out there
The plush reversible Cats vs Pickles are about 14cm x 10cm and they’re super soft and squishy and just big enough for your to keep on your hands, although you won’t be able to do much while they’re there! They also work quite well as puppets, as my kids discovered!
They’re suitable for kids aged 4 years old and up and can be bought from Smyths Toys or the Entertainer, or online via Amazon.
