Disclaimer: I was sent the items featured by Moonpig in exchange for this post but words and pictures are mine.
Last week, I was invited along to a virtual event about planning the perfect birthday with online greetings card retailer Moonpig!
I’ve been using Moonpig to send personalised greetings cards and gifts to friends and family for over 12 years now, so am very familiar with what they have to offer, although I usually use my computer to create cards and hadn’t downloaded the Moonpig App.
We were introduced to the newest version of the Moonpig App.
It can be used just like the website, to choose from the thousands of cards, personalise it and upload pictures straight from your phone. As with the website all your contacts and important dates are stored within the app so you have no excuse to forget a birthday!

Some features, for example the augmented reality (which show you just how HUGE the extra large cards actual are and what they’ll look like on your mantelpiece) are only available on the iPhone App, but as an android user I found it super easy to order my husband’s anniversary card through the app!
Some of the features which I really liked included the ‘inspiration’ for messages (which you could then alter to suit) and the fact that you can now use handwritten messages, which is nice if you have kids who want to draw a picture inside Grandma’s card.
Next, we met Moonpig’s resident flower expert, Roxanne

She was on hand to show us how to arrange the beautiful bunch of flowers we’d each been sent.
I’ve sent flowers through Moonpig several times and have always heard nice things about the bouquets; the Luxury Summer Garden bunch we were sent is the biggest and best bouquet of them all!

In fact it contained so many flowers, I didn’t own a vase big enough. However I definitely learned some handy tips about how to place them diagonally at right angles to each other to fill out the vase.

Then it was time for my favourite part; the cocktail making!

We had been sent the ingredients and utensils to make three different cocktails and the mixologist, James from Mix & Twist, led us through each step.
Although I love making cocktails, I feel like my cocktail game has been upped significantly now that I own a Mexican elbow and a muddler, so watch this space!

The cocktails were all made using Konik’s Tail vodka which is available from the gifts section of the Moonpig website.
Here are the cocktails which we made:
Summer Garden
This cocktail contained 45ml Vodka, 25ml fresh lime, 25ml sugar syrup, muddled together with mint leaves and cucumber, and topped up with 25ml elderflower soda

Strawberry Fizz
This cocktail also had 45ml Vodka, 25ml freshly squeezed, lemon, 25ml sugar syrup, five fresh strawberries all muddled and stirred and topped up with soda (although I reckon prosecco would be just as good if not better!)

Passionfruit Martini
I love a passionfruit cocktail, and this one was simply made by shaking 45ml Vodka, 20ml fresh lemon, 25ml passionfruit syrup and 60ml pineapple juice together with ice.

Cheers Moonpig!
