This is a collaborative post: Whether you are gaming, editing photos or reading text on your favourite sites, without the right monitor, everything on your computer will feel stale. Display specifications and features can make the experience different so manufactures have created a plethora of options. We bring you the basic checklist that you need to consider when buying a PC monitor online. We also suggest you to go through the Huawei monitor review if you are considering buying a high-tech PC monitor at affordable prices, without compromising in quality and specifications.
What is your purpose?
Do you know your purpose of buying a PC monitor – professional, gaming, or general? Gaming should prioritize high refresh rates and quick response times. Professionals should prioritize colour accuracy. General use users will have specific needs, but will opt for a monitor that has a VA panel with high contrast.
Check out the contrast ratio
Higher resolutions will produce better results. The resolution of a monitor tells you how many pixels it has in width and height formats. The minimum resolution you will need is 1920×1080, also known as Full HD/1080p. You will see sharper images with Q-HD, and even more with 4K.
What is the right size?
It is also important to consider the size of your monitor. Monitor quality is affected by pixel density. If the monitor is larger, it will have a lower pixel density. 32 inches is sufficient for viewing from a typical desktop distance. For less than $1,000, it is easy to find a 32 inch gaming or general-purpose monitor with 4K resolution.
Refresh rates – the higher the better
It is the number of times your monitor updates new information every second. It is measured in hertz (Hz). A higher number means smoother images and less choppy. Gaming gamers will need a monitor that refreshes at least 75 Hz. Most monitors are designed to deliver at least 120 Hz. The best response time is also important. A 60 Hz refresh rate is sufficient if you are not gaming.
A curved monitor is an option
Curved monitors can be more immersive and less distracting than traditional ones. They do not cause glare. Curved monitors that work well are often ultra wide and at minimum 30 inches. It indicates higher prices. Understanding curvature specifications is important if you decide to buy a curved screen monitor. Gaming and professional monitors can be used as general-purpose displays. You do not want to spend extra on specialized monitors if you want to save money. It is how you can choose the best monitor for you.
Panel technology and HD monitors
TN panel monitors is slower than IPS panel monitors are. IPS monitors respond slightly quicker and show color more clearly than VA panels. However, VA monitors offer the highest contrast of all three types of panel. Contrast is the first indicator of image quality. Color saturation, accuracy, and resolution are next. VA panels offer contrast levels that are three to five times higher than IPS and TN screens. The VA screen will easily outperform IPS screens if they are placed next to each other and have the same brightness levels and calibration standards.
