Femme Luxe Finery: My casual autumnal picks for a soggy July

Disclaimer: This is a collaborative post. I was sent these outfits from Femme Luxe free of charge for the purposes of this post, but words and pictures are mine. Contains affiliate links. See more information here

Femme Luxe Finery sell a big selection of cheap loungewear and bodycon dresses, tops, jeans, shoes, accessories and more online. You can see my previous selections here.

Many of the outfits they sell cost a budget friendly £20 and under, and although many of the clothes on the website are aimed at a younger teenage/early 20s market (with flat stomachs and definitely no c-section overhang!), there are pieces suitable for someone of my age.

I was gifted some new outfits from the Femme Luxe website. This time I thought I’d step outside of the loungewear and bodycon dress categories and see what else I could find. Although it’s July, it’s been the wettest, coldest July in my memory so I’ve gone for more autumnal pieces in readiness for a few months’ time, guessing that I might get a bit of use out of them in the meantime (not that I’m happy about it mind!).

Here are my autumnal clothing picks from Femme Luxe Finery this month:

The “Shacket”

A portmanteau of the words ‘Shirt’ and ‘Jacket’, this thin, fleecy-lined cover-up is super comfy with pockets and perfect for a casual look. A casual lumberjack, maybe.

My staple for the summer is my trusty 12-year-old denim jacket, but I just cannot bring myself to do the double denim thing. Leather as an alternative can be a bit hot, particularly on a sunny day, so the Shacket looks like it will be a great alternative to shove in a bag or whip on for the school run if the temperature keeps on changing its mind like it does at the moment.

The Shacket is available in a plaid shirt pattern in loads of different colours. This one is ‘olive’, which is very similar to khaki, and goes well with denim or black.

The Shacket costs £21.99 and is available in XS (6-8), small (8-10), medium (10-12), large (size 12-14) and XL (14-16) although they’re oversize so quite baggy and you could size down if your own size wasn’t available.

The jumper dress

The jumper dress is one of my autumn/winter favourites, and while it’s meant to be the middle of summer, a quick look out of the window tells me it definitely isn’t shorts weather right now.

This cream batwing knitted mini jumper dress is currently on sale so bag a bargain before the autumn rocks around.

It comes in sizes from 6 to 14 and would look great with brightly coloured or black tights, or even over jeggings for warm cosy evenings in or out. I think it looks great with my £2 Primark waist-belt although it is cinched at the waist for a flattering look.

It’s a lovely colour and not too chunky so you shouldn’t overheat! Just don’t spill coffee or red wine down it.
