Rainbocorns from Zuru are cute, squishy plush animal/unicorn hybrids with a reversible sequin tummy and they hatch from a big surprise unicorn egg!
The second series of Rainbocorns has been released and this time they come with even more surprises.
We were sent a Rainbocorns Series 2 Sequin Surprise large plush toy and a Rainbocorns Sparkle Heart Surprise mini plush to unbox and review.
Rainbocorns Series 2: Sequin Surprise
The Rainbocorns come in a large, reusable plastic egg. Remove the plastic wrap from the egg and you can brush the removable sequin heart to see which symbol it has on it; this tells you which Rainbocorn you have inside!
Note that you can tell which Rainbocorn you’re going to get through a combination of the unicorn horn and the colour of the heart.
Our Rainbocorn egg had a pink and gold horn (which indicates flamingos!) and blue sequins which when brushed show a watermelon. We have also unboxed a Rainbocorn with a coral and blue horn; this was a unicorn. You can see the unboxing video here:
Within the egg, which splits into two pieces and can be put back together to provide a home for your new friend, you’ll find your plush scented Rainbocorn and a load of other surprises.
There are 13 new Rainbocorns characters to hatch.
This includes two Pandacorns, Flamingocorns, Llamacorns, Unicorns, Lioncorns, and Owlcorns, and a rare, gold Flamingocorn.
We got a bright pink Flamingocorn called Coral.
Coral has a gold tummy, gold unicorn horn and gold legs and wings. He is very soft and huggable; I still can’t totally place the scent but he definitely smells very sweet! The sequin heart slots in to his tummy.
You can also use the sequin heart to can use to seal up the egg (this can be a little tricky so best to have an adult to help) and it also has a clip on the back so can be worn as an accessory.
Also inside the egg, you also get some Rainbocorn poop slime, some stickers, a mystery accessory and a collectible baby Boo-Boocorn character. There are over different little Boo-Boocorns to collect.
These come inside small plastic eggs and can be used as pencil toppers; you might even hatch a pair of rare twins.
The Rainbocorn poop slime isn’t really tacky or slimy at all. It comes in three colours and they all smoosh together very quickly to make a pinky-brown colour. If you want to keep it, you’ll have to find a container to keep it in so that it doesn’t dry out.
Lastly you get a mystery accessory; inside the package was a bracelet with a Coral the Flamingocorn charm on it.
The whole unboxing experience is great fun for kids.
Fortunately as the eggs are reusable there isn’t a huge amount of plastic packaging to throw away (although obviously some).
We loved our bright pink Rainbocorn!
As you can see the colours of the sequins on the front of the egg, you can collect the Rainbocorns and you won’t be left with duplicates.
Rainbocorns Sparkle Heart Surprise
Inside the smaller Sparkle Heart Surprise eggs you get one of six small plush toys with a peel and reveal mystery symbol instead of sequins.
We got Nibbles, who I’d guess is a bunnycorn?!
You also get some rainbow poop slime and one of 18 colour-changing Boo-Boocorns. Dip them in water to see them change colour!
There are six Rainbocorns Sparkle Heart Surprise plush toys to collect, and you don’t know which one you’ll get from the outside of the egg meaning that duplicates are quite likely, and there isn’t the range of surprises that you get in the larger eggs.
This said, they still have a fun unboxing element and would make a nice gift.

Rainbocorns Sequin Surprise large eggs have an RRP of £24.99, and the Sparkle Heart Surprise eggs cost £9.99 each. They can be purchased from large toy retailers such and are also available on Amazon.
A perfect gift now that my daughter’s birthday is coming up and she’s a crazy unicorn lover.
I… I want the golden flamingocorn. I’ve got strategies to get it, and I’m really eager to try them out.
