Twisty Petz from Spinmaster are cute little pocket money collectable animals made from a elasticated string of beads, which can be untwisted to make funky beaded bracelets, necklaces or bag charms, and then twisted back into animals.
Twisty Petz are aimed at children aged 4+ who like everything colourful, glittery, shiny and bling!
The first series of Twisty Petz was released last year, and now there is a second series of new and exciting animals to collect.
We were sent some of the new series 2 Twisty Petz to try out and review.
Both series 1 and 2 of the Twisty Petz are available in single packs, triple packs which include one surprise Twisty Petz character, and packs of four Twisty Petz Babies.
There are over 60 Twisty Petz series 2 characters to collect, and 24 Twisty Petz Babies. You can find the collector’s lists for series 2, including the rare and special edition Twisty Petz, below.
How do Twisty Petz work?
Twisty Petz are simple to ‘transform’ – my five year old had no trouble doing this on her own once I’d shown her how to use them.
To turn them from a pet to a bracelet, necklace or bag charm, pull the head and the tail gently apart to untwist the animal into a string of beads. To create a loop place the tail into the hole in the head and push it in.
The beads are on an elasticated string, so can be worn as a bracelet on any sized wrist. The different characters can all be connected so that two or more Twisty Petz can be put together to create a necklace.
The smaller Twisty Petz, Twisty Petz Babies, are shorter and to create a bracelet large enough to fit a wrist, you need at least two Twisty Petz Babies connected together.
To turn your jewellery back into a little pet, pull the tail out of the head, grasp the pair of matching beads which make up the legs and twist them several times. Repeat for the second pair of legs and you have your Twisty Pet, which you can even stand up.
Three pack of Twisty Petz
In the three pack, which retails for £12.99, you get three Twisty Petz; two which you can see through the packaging and one mystery pet which remains hidden until you open it up!
Our surprise character was was a limited edition rose gold Twinkie Bear, to go with the flying unicorn and glittery llama (a limited edition Twisty Petz character!).
Other animals you can collect in this series of Twisty Petz include turtles, kitties, puppies, polar bears, deer, zebras, poodles, ponies, tigers, dragons…
There are over 60 different Twisty Petz to collect in series 2 and some are flocked, glittery, shiny or metallic to create a fun and funky range of jewellery which kids will love!
Twisty Petz Babies
Twisty Petz Babies are smaller than the standard Twisty Petz, and the packs retail at £9.99.
There are 24 cute little characters to collect, puppies, kittens, koalas, ponies, polar bears and unicorns, and in each pack you get two pairs. Each pair fit together to create a bracelet.
You also get a clip-on plastic charm and a glittery pot to keep your Twisty Petz Babies in.
Being smaller, they’re slightly more fiddly to transform back into an animal than the standard sized Twisty Petz, but the bracelets are less chunky and more delicate on small wrists.
How much and where to buy
Twisty Petz are great fun and definitely appeal to my five year old girl. Creating jewellery she can wear out of cute little animals is great fun.
