Are you in a panic because you haven’t finished your Christmas shopping? Have you just realised you’ve not bought anything for your partner from the kids, and it’s too late to order anything to be delivered in time for Christmas? Have a sister or sister in law who just slipped your mind?
Relax! Amazon prime is your friend. At least, if you pull your finger out.
I’ve asked a group of 30-something mums for ideas of gifts they’d be happy to unwrap; these can be bought up until Friday this week (but come on, don’t leave it that late for God’s sake!) for Christmas Delivery.
God bless Amazon Prime.
1. Woodwick candles
I love these; they smell amazing and they crackle. Very festive and pretty.
2. Kindle Paperwhite
So practical, especially as a parent, because you can read in the dark while you’re waiting for your child to Go To Sleep.
Fits in the changing bag and you can buy new books at any time of day. You can even start to read them before buying to see if you like it.
3. Dyson hair dryer
Wow. These are not cheap – but I’m told they are bloody fantastic.
If you have serious money to burn then they are on the wishlist of many mums who wouldn’t otherwise have time to dry their hair for the school run.
4. Radley shoulder bag.
No, of course I do not have enough handbags. Don’t be stupid.
5. Beauty and the Beast Enchanted Rose Light
One for Disney fans. I’m not a Disney geek by any means, but I do love Beauty and the Beast and this Enchanted Rose touch lamp* is just subtle enough to be acceptable. And it’s pretty! *This was gifted to us by Paladone for inclusion in this guide.
6. Nice makeup
I’m told by people in the know that Charlotte Tillbury make up is the shit.
7. Bath bombs
And time alone to actually have a bath.
So pretty! So drinkable!
OK so this is quite specific to my friend Sam, but if you’re buying for someone who loves a bit of weird then a Fuggler is, apparently, a must have.
10. Mum’s diary
I really want to be more organised this year. You have to be when you have a kid in school; if you don’t write it down how are you supposed to remember Spanish Day, dress down day, and Crazy Hair day when you’re supposed to bring in cakes or was it bottles this week? Or maybe it was money, I can’t remember. But don’t forget the nativity and the pantomime or that £5 for this or that.
These diaries have the space you need, and they come in four colours.
11. Insulated mug
Never drink cold coffee again. And these ones come in all sorts of fun colours. What more could a mum want?
12. Life sized cardboard cut out of Tom Hardy
Not to my personal taste, but this isn’t all about me…
