This week we were asked to review the new Hatchimals CollEGGtibles 48-piece Mystery Puzzle jigsaw by Spinmaster.
Although the big one was a bit young to join in the original Hatchimals craze when it hit over Christmas for which I was very thankful, she has become a bit obsessed by the new Hatchimals CollEGGtibles (collectibles, geddit? What a great yolk).
Each Hatchimals CollEGGtible egg comes in a little blind pack. Within the egg (which you ‘hatch’ by rubbing the heart until it changes colour and then pushing open with your thumb) is a cute little animal toy.
We were fortunate to receive two Hatchimals CollEGGtibles when they were first released and have since bought more because they make cracking reward/bribery tools. Yes, I went there.
She also loves a puzzle.
The Hatchimals CollEGGtibles Mystery Puzzle comes with an exclusive figure (inside an egg, of course) and one of two 48-piece jigsaws although you don’t know which until you’ve opened the box (that’s the mystery, in case you were wondering). Fortunately we received the purple deer (Is it a deer? I don’t know. Let’s call it a deer).
Of course, the egg had to be hatched first before the puzzle was started.
On to the Hatchimals jigsaw puzzle…
The pieces were bright and colourful and large enough for small hands to grip easily. I helped with the outline but she managed the rest of the jigsaw by herself; I was immensely proud at her level of concentration as I had thought it might be a bit difficult for her, but she showed herself more than capable of finding the right pieces using the picture.
|With no help at all from little bro|
I would say it is best aimed at children between five and eight, and younger ones will probably need a little help although they’ll still enjoy it.
The Hatchimals CollEGGtibles Mystery Puzzle is coming on sale soon, and from what I can find it will have an expected RRP of £6.
The Hatchimals CollEGGtibles themselves are priced at £3 each when bought separately as a single blind bag, so I think £6 for the jigsaw with a CollEGGtible is good value and makes it the perfect price for a birthday present.
